So in light of my recent minor hand surgery I got to thinking about holsters. My right hand is temporarily disabled/weakened. I’ve been thinking of having a couple lefty holsters made for the guns I usually carry. I’m ambi-dexterous and with a little consistent practice am fairly adequate lefty. Anyone have a few off hand holsters in case of injury? Seems like cheap insurance so I can still have an effective carry piece.

Or do I have too much time on my hands and am overthinking things?

Smart idea in my opinion.

Been there! I keep a couple of left-handed and ambi pocket holsters around.

I'm a lefty but shoot righty, don't ask.... right eye dominant.

I have been carrying appendix for about the past year or so, when out on the motorcycle for long rides, it starts getting uncomfortable after a few hours on the road and I will switch my IWB righty holster to a OWB lefty holster.

I am a fairly proficient shooter off (left) handed and typically practice this some at the range every time.

When shoulder was at its worst right hand draw wasn't an option. I have a lefty holster I can use if needed; carried lefty for a couple of months. I practice weak hand only every range trip just in case.

These pancake holsters can be used on either right or left side. They are considered to be right handed holsters because the printing is on the left side.

When I had shoulder surgery I went to pocket carry. I started with it tucked in to the sling. Once I was out of the sling it went into the pocket until I could draw and shoot right handed again a few months later.

Up in the mountains for a week. Brought a couple pocket holsters to mess with. Think I could draw and fire fine righty now if need be, but might as well practice a little.

Ive done the same thing in the past, after a nasty, nasty wreck.

Luckily I carry lefty so finding a right hand holster as easy.
