Off duty cop, mom, takes out bad guy

Having traveled Brazil a great deal and given the disaster that is their current economy, what was already not a safe place has gotten worse. Note that gun ownership is strictly controlled and limited to licensees (read affluent citizens who can afford the license), who are subject to annual storage inspections by the military.

The favelas have long been the domain of drug lords and gangs and "no go" zones for the police, but it is now spreading out of the favelas into business districts.

Good for this lady. Hopefully, there will be few ramifications to her decision as she is a federal police officer.

I was actually traveling to Brazil when they announced that Rio had been selected for the Olympics. On the same day, the big news in Brazil was that a Police helicopter had been shot down over a favela in Rio. Yes, shot down. Obviously the drug gangs are well armed in spite of the extreme gun control.
 
Imagine the spin our media would have put on the story had it happened here. :confused:

I know they have shot down police helicopters over Juarez, Mexico, just over the river from El Paso. With crew-served weapons.

I haven't seen anything about Brazil or Mexico (which I was unaware of) in the news. I Guess it doesn't fit the narrative for bad guys to have air defense capability when they can't purchase it a gun show.

I liked how she seemed to maintain control, closed to the danger, fired to the chest, moved to cover, closed back on the perp, recovered the gun, kept moving, all while keeping the perp at gun point.

A little thick in the hip, but BAD to the bone. No hesitation, no remorse, no warnings, bang, you're dead... PERFECT......

Bad guy with a gun met a good woman with a gun, predictable outcome.....
 
Pulled her weapon, put the guy down and didn't even lose control of her purse. :)
 
She has her gun low ready at 0:14, guess he forgot to clean that revolver.
This guy is so brazen, so many shops and schools have cameras, he could care less,
good that he is DOA at hospital.
 
Robbing women and children while wearing flip flops. What a ......former.....baller!

I agree but she lost me a bit when she put her foot on him. There is no need to put yourself in contact with the perp at that point. She could have easily kept her distance issued verbal commands and accomplished the same thing. Standing over him unbalanced with her weight on him could have set her up for failure. She was covering him the entire time but to me she is still taking too much risk. Depending on where the perp was shot and his own physical strength and will she put herself unnecessarily close to him. She then turns her attention aways from the perp which is also dangerous.

Still all in all very impressive.
