If the time ever comes and you have to draw you weapon that has a lazer on it and do not have a clear shot or the back stop is not what it is suppose to be, would the lazer blind the guy long enough to distract him to get into position for your next move. Or buy you some time for someone else to lean a helping hand.

If you were really lucky you might be able to Laz one of the perps eyes but to think you are going to line up and Laz both eyes before he does something bad is pretty doubtful. But that's just my opinion.

Doubt that would work out ever. Its tough enough to keep a tiny laser dot still on a target in perfect conditions, can't imagine the odds of doing that in the situation you are describing, but hey, somebody did win that billion dollar powerball, so I guess there's always a chance.

At best they will have minor discomfort if you could hold it in there eye but I wouldn’t bank on them being still long enough to get much of a distraction.

It depends on distance. The father away from you the more disperse the light is. While the light is nearly "parallel" close in, I can say at 800 yds my Crimson Trace Rail master with the green laser will illuminate a full tree height from where I am. This is the same reason pilots complain/point out folks pointing lasers at them as they are on approach, it's less than a mm wide at exit but many meters in width at altitude. Overall, my opinion is that it would definitely distract and cause some discomfort but total disabling, I wouldn't count on it.

I think that if you run a commercial laser across someone’s face that they will respond in some way even though they will be unharmed. No idea how you’d predict their response, they could turn their head, raise a hard, or start shooting.

I don’t like a laser on a carry gun, but that’s another topic.

I lol’d.
It’s an interesting question.
