Yes and no. That 3M mask is configurable for single-front, double-side, and single-side filter use. Those P100 filters come in pairs but the NBC filters are individual. The P100s work fine as individuals and even though you have to work a little harder breathing, it's half the cost(they aren't cheap). Now they are unobtainium as well...

And I put it on the left side instead of center so I can maintain a cheek weld if necessary...

Donā€™t forget to pick up some N95 masks that actually work. :D

This thread obviously is a joke (at least I thought it was obvious), but let's shed a little light on masks...

N95 masks don't work on viruses really. They block 95% of 3 micron smoke particulates(virus is .04-.14 micron-ish). Neither do P100 filters like mine, but they're better at particulate filtering(98.5%) and won't clog up as fast as a simple mask. N95s only catch the droplets(COVID-19 is spread through droplets and surface contact). They also work on a static charge in the fabric that's destroyed by the oils in your skin and your breath over time(P100s are oil proof). Hence the 8hr rating. The exhaust valve type helps it last a little bit but not much. Mostly just easier to exhale, and as an aside acts like a little droplet leaf blower when you do exhale. That actually makes them less effective for our current need to wear masks... Yay... None of the masks in use are designed for what people are using them for. Also if droplets hit your face, you can get it through the mucous membranes in your eyes. So really, while masks do add a little protection, it's minimal. It really only serves to trap the virus in the carrier's mask, assuming they are wearing one correctly and it isn't a exhaust-valve model.

My respirator is actually useful because it's sealed and full face. The P100 or NBC filters are fine for blocking droplets and you can't touch your face while you are wearing it(primary contracting cause), an added benefit. The mask is easily cleaned and decontaminated, and doesn't require touching the filter media to remove or put on like the N95 masks(if you have virus on the mask and you touch the mask taking it off, you have virus on your hand).

All that said I'm still not wearing this thing unless I have to go into a known hot zone. I use it for chemical work and remediation under houses and confined spaces...
