Off topic vs. Politics

A couple of questions:
Why does the politics section require admittance?
Have I been admitted?
If the answer to the one above is 'yes', where is the politics section?

Because not everyone wants to read about politics when they visit. It is located at the bottom of the forum list. If you don't see it request access at the top under site related.

2A related political topics will be in the firearms news and views section.

The answer to the first question is because the discussions invariably get, how shall we say..."unpleasant", and it was suggested that it might look better if we put those unhappy "discussions" outside the public view. Requires less policing that way, also.

As to the second question, if you can get in here, you're in.
