Michael Slager sentenced to 20 years, plus two years of supervised release, for shooting and killing Walter Scott during a traffic stop in Charleston, SC back in 2015.
This was captured on cell phone video by a bystander. Walter (age 50) got out of his vehicle and ran after being pulled over for a broken brake light (purportedly because he was behind on child support payments and feared being arrested for that). Officer Slager shot him in the back, hitting him 5 times out of 8 shots. Slager claimed Scott grabbed his stun gun during the encounter...then it was shown on the bystander's video that Slager picked up the stun gun afterwards, moved it closer to the body and dropped it there.
