Technical questions here....
So I will give you my build specs, then the problem

AR10 matched upper and lower reciever
Barrel B.A Hansen 16in 1:10 stainless<---Installed by gunsmith
Trigger CMC FLAT
Fail Zero BCG
JP Silent capture buffer thing.
Magazines Magpul
AAC muzzle thing
Ammo used both .308 & 7.62-Privi/Defender ammo/Mil Ball/Mathc King.
Ammo grain used/ 147-168-175
20 rounds of each above

*So what has happened is after every 2nd or 3rd round the round would not fire, and be stuck in the chamber, I was unable to pull charging handle to the rear, had to hit it with a rubber hammer. To loosen it up the (live) round would be ejected.
*The spent rounds have no burrs scratches marring ect
*The bolt spins freely in the carrier
*Liberal amount of CLP on all moving parts
Feed ramp/Extension has no burrs either.

With no ammo the gun cycles and function checks/

Thank you in advance

The first thing I'd do would be to clean the chamber and the bore, and after you finish cleaning them, run dry patches through to get all the oil out. The chamber and bore should be dry. Test fire again and see if that fixed your problem.

I haven't armored in a long time so I could be off base but the head spacing may be too tight or short and the round is not going all the way in. The hammer strike is then just enough to drive the case into the chamber wedging it in there. That also explains the FTF because instead of the hammer getting a solid impact on the primer the energy is lost driving the cartridge home.

Do you own a case guage?
If so, guage the ammo. Sounds like a classic headspace issue to me.
(Brass or chamber)

did that too

issues with 3 different brands of ammo, and 3 different grains?
I will go get a Guage, and check/

I would use a sharpie to color a round then slingshot chamber it.
You will be able to see the marks better.

Is there any chance the chamber was cut for a particular load?
I know GAP will cut a 308 chamber for a 175gr SMK @ Mag length.
A 190gr SMK won't chamber.

Since its a custom barrel, it may have been custom reamed.

Just brainstorming.

I’m going to take it back to the guy who put the barrel on and have him remove it
Inspect it (the barrel) and reapply it

Not being familiar with CLP, is it a light oil like WD-40, or is it a nice viscous oil like motor oil?

I broke in all my large-frame ARs with at least 10w-30 motor oils, liberally applied to everything except chamber and barrel as mentioned previously. It's pretty typical in my experience for a new build to be a little touchy behind the ~300 round mark.

Do yourself a favor though and shoot the better ammo through it during the break-in, throwing away money and barrel life just to cycle cheap ammo won't do anything except demonstrate how crappily crap ammo performs.

Removed and reapplied Barrel
Polished the feedramp and bore.
Some small superficial tool marks in the chamber..
Same problems /fte-ftf-not extracting-rounds sticking in chamber..
Ammo used privi partisan 308/mil 7.62/defender ammo/federal/
Mags new magpul

Going to back to the guy I bought Barrel from and have him pull it and send it back to ballistic advantage..

Did you have a chance to check headspace with a go and no-go gauge?

I did shoot back in October with no issues I used( same as my bolt rifle) Federal 168/Privi .308/Defender Ammo not sure of the grain.
All the ammo was new, and It ran fine.
Ammo would fit on the bolt and catch on the extractor
When I took it out to Zero a Optic (PA 1-8-24) then all of the problems from original post began.
Lubed correctly
Gun function checks just fine.

I have the same barrel but in a 556/223 pattern with no issues

Hope this made sense

CLP is the what the military uses. Clean, Lube, Protect. It’s like hoppes #9 but mostly better

So I pulled the barrel and sent it back to ballistic advantage, an the problem was that the LEAD was to short<I have no idea what that means> Anyway I will be getting a new 16 in premium Hansen barrel.

we shall see

It's the throat...Part of the chamber that funnels from the OD of the bullet + a few thou to the ID of the bore.

"a" below

the lead is the section of the chamber which tapers into the rifling ahead of the mouth of the cartridge case. too short and the mouth of the case can contact the tapered "lead" preventing the case from entering fully, it jams then....a round plug(case mouth) wedged in a tapering hole (lead into barrel) Most likely the chamber was not cut deep enough and was shorter overall then minimum length....

So I got a letter back from BA.

After barrel inspection it had deep gouges, messed up lead..and when they did go/ nogo gauge it failed so I got a new barrel..

Will plan to shoot tomorrow

So just an update to this.
I got barrel back brand spanking new.
Headspaced passed
Checked with various ammo loaded a mag and fed and pulled CH no issues
Went and shot it no issues with 120 rounds of various ammo

Will post up photos of rifle later tonight
