I guy from work brought me this round of ammo saying he needs some. It's for a star super pistol. I have never seen this ammo before. Can some please help me out on what it is? Thanks

I don’t recognize the markings but it looks like 30 carbine.

it's a bit thicker than .30 Carb, and TWSS as well ;)

I see that now. On first site and ignoring the markings it was my first thought. But almost all the 30 carbine I’ve seen is lake city so I was only 20% on my guess.

.38 super is one of those rounds that SHOULD have made it big here in the states, but really never did outside competition circles. Shoots heavier bullets faster than .357 SIG, been around forever.

But it's more popular in Mexico and Europe lol, because they (citizens) can't own .45s

9mm Largo
He's right. Makes more sense with the markings.

.38 super is a 23mm STRAIGHT walled case
9mm Largo is a 23mm TAPERED wall case.

That and being a Star but not a model B would make it go on down the road for me, before someone chambers a .38 super round and experiences a come to Jesus moment.

If those dimensions are accurate, it doesn't match either .38 Super or 9mm Largo in my book. But my poor eyes think it looks more like 9mm Largo.

9-L means "9mm Largo" does it not?

Of course, he is.

Is it a tapered case? Could be a 9x23.

edit:
wups, late to the party as usual.
