Well, I saw this auction for a cheap starting price and bid on it. Nobody else wanted this old, badly painted shotgun, so I won it easily.

When I finally got it in my hands, I noticed that it would fire the left barrel, but not the right. Uh oh.

Well, today I’ve spent the last 20 minutes taking it all apart.

After inspecting everything, all the springs are in good shape, nothing is bent, rusty, or peened, and I think all it really needs is a thorough cleaning to get all the gunk and grime out of it.

And I need to strip that paint off!

Welp, I haven't properly gotten it back together. 🤦‍♂️ I got something wrong with the...those elongated almost triangle shaped parts at the top of the pic above. The tip of them stick out the front, but I'm not sure of the correct orientation and how they relate to the hammer spring. Will try moving things around later.

I'm sure you've looked but have you checked the you tube for disassembly vids of old double barrels? I allways make sure phone is handy when working on old guns. That way I can take video or alot of pics of each piece as it comes out and it's orientation. @NiceOldDouble seems to be the old double barrel expert around here maybe he can assist.

I took a few pics, but missed those somehow. YouTube doesn’t have anything about these specific shotguns, but I suppose I could look at other similar guns for tips. These levers *must* interact with the hammer springs or hammers somehow, because as I have them now, they do not and the gun doesn’t work! It’s a matter of what goes in first and in what orientation.

uh... why are you not putting it on youtube for others to benefit from later?

No video yet, but there is this - white arrow is correct, yellow arrow is correct orientation, but it won’t go to the correct position. Don’t really know why yet, though that side of the receiver is tighter fitting. I can fit all the pieces together, open the action, and the right hand hammer will cock. Left hand will not. I can close the action by carefully pushing the extractor closed a tiny bit, and then the right trigger will function correctly and if there was a shell, it would fire.

I may try polishing the sides of the cocking levers. That might improve the fit?
