Is this another one of "those" threads?

Luckily, my BIL was sitting on the front porch when the family pet was attacked by two other dogs from another piece of property. I'm not quite sure how he got the fight broke up, at this point, but I know the family just shelled out $400 (that they really didn't have) to get Kojak mended.

The BIL confronted the owner of the dogs who said that they have been in their own yard all day.

Here's what a dog looks like that was lying at the corner of a front porch and attacked "remotely" by two dogs that never left their property.

I would warn the owner if the dogs come back on the property it's probably not gonna go well for the dogs,
And I says this not wanting to see any animal hurt needlessly, but Im gonna defend my own first.

I'm finding out these two dogs attacked a neighbor's dog at an earlier time. Supposedly, the "dog catcher" has already visited the owner, but with no evidence, there's no crime.

There is evidently some pretty obvious Evidence now.

Call the dog pound and have them place traps on your property. When the are trapped they will be empounded and the lying owner can pay for their release which I doubt will happen and if so reset the traps to continue the cycle. Better to stay away from an altercation with the lying owner if possible and if one occurs it is better to have the law on your side, good luck.

I tried that with a neighbor and it just pissed him off because he had to pay to get them back. I had no idea who's dogs they were when I called. It however did not stop the dogs from running loose and killing chickens. The only thing that worked was when I killed the dogs in the act, and I reported it to the sheriff's department. It really pissed the owner off but the sheriff told him that I was in the right and he should have kept his dogs up.

That's what happens when you act within the law, a good outcome. As for the pissed off neighbor, in time he will learn to live within the law or continue a miserable existence.

I think what concerns me more than the family pet getting attacked, is the potential problem I might be seeing on the horizon, considering both dogs attacked the neighbor's dog, too.

Both of my wife's parents are pretty much disabled, at least to the point of probably not faring well if these dogs got a hold of one of them. Even the BIL is afflicted with COPD and emphysema. He's strong, but has absolutely no stamina.

I had the same issue with a neighbor, his dogs (full sized Poodles) running loose and both jumped on Lucy one afternoon. I got them off before any harm was done (except to my booted foot) and told him that next time I'd kill the dogs right in front of him. He gets all jacked out of shape but doesn't have the balls to do anything but run off at the mouth.
Finally his wife calls Kannapolis PD and they come out and explain to him that I have the right to protect myself AND my property (Lucy) using whatever force was required, up to and including shooting them. He gets all pissy with the Corporal who promptly put him in his place.
The very next week he builds a good sized chain link pen and there's been no issues since. A week later his wife presents me with a vet bill for 400.00+ for fixing the one dogs ribs where I kicked him, I explained to her how to pound sand, she took it pretty well.... End of subject and end of problem.

The closest I have ever come to drawing and shooting was a loose dog that came after my leashed dog at a cabin we were vacationing at. It had been around a couple days, probably a neighbors dog. Either he understood what I said, or the tone of it. Didn't see him much after that.

Ya'll have seem me confess my marshmallow-ness around animals. Hell I won't even shoot a possum. I trap em and set them loose in the woods.
But if anything comes after my bestest little buddy Honda, everything dies. 40rd AR15 mag dumps.

Thank goodness Kojak has some size and could fight for himself a-bit. An attack like that would've killed my little dog.

There WILL be evidence, hair from the attacking dogs on that porch.
That picture's rough, it looks like at least 7 drains in the stitches, nasty stuff.

You should cal animal control too.

I don't know the laws where you are at but a lot of places require AC to give warnings on initial and act on subsequent complaints.

And because stereotype, this is on a tree as soon as you turn off the paved road to my inlaw's place.

I WANT the sign (with corrected typos) and cam. I am sick and tired (and tired and sick) of McDonalds bags and beer cans along our neighborhood entrance. I check for legible receipts to bust the POS's.

Dogs are creatures of habit and opportunists... they will be back. Probably around the same time of day. They should maybe find something different on their next visit.

Wrist-Rocket sling shot and 3/8" steel ball bearings. Better than a suppressor and you were always at home...…..right?

The sign is more effective as is. It struck fear in me. I took my thash home with me.

I use black jelly beans with my wrist rocket.

If you hit a black jelly bean with a lawn mower it does not even make a noise.

Hit a bearing with a lawn mower and it goes off with a bang.

This is why I have a 6 foot fence. My dogs stay in, the other dogs stay out. They can bark at each other through the fence if they like.

We lived in the city limits, had a fence around the yard, and rabbits in pens in the 80s when I was a kid. Loose dogs would periodically jump the fence, break thru the pen floors, and make a mess of a rabbit or two.

Dad also had a groundward shot from the dining room. More than one dog met its demise. At least one owner had a collared corpse returned. More than one LEO came and chatted, no charges ever came to dad.

A coworker did get into some trouble for killing his neighbors Rottweiler. The dog had gotten out of the kennel more than once and even chased the man's wife and kids back into the house. The dog chased the man onto the back of his truck.

The neighbor was warned that if the dog came back in his yard, he would be killed. The dog returned and as a result, it was killed. I think the reason my coworker was arrested, charged, and fined for killing the dog, is because he threw the dead dog back into the kennel.

He was only charged because he admitted to it or multiple folks saw him.

Those 2 will be back for sure.

I lost 8 chickens in one day he lost two dogs in one week. We had some words not long after he wanted to yell at me from 2 doors down so I went down to his house and told him to keep his remaining dogs up and we wouldnt have any more problems. Everything was fine after that.

I had to dispatch a neighbor's 6 dogs and hated it.
They attacked my BIL's dog, it was shredded, killed 20 of my Guinea hens, attacked a border's horse and came in both ends of our barn aggressively towards my young sons as they were quartering a deer. After they swore their dogs never left their property, I started dispatching them one at a time. It wasn't until 6 were missing that they controlled their dogs.
