I would like to have some factory loaded ammo available for my garand. Would you consider this a good deal?

If not, can you point me to a better deal?

I want reloadable brass ammo since I am set up to reload 30-06 now. I am just wanting some bulk 30-06 in garand specs as a backup supply. I hate that I am just now getting into it, as I know that 20 years ago this was a much cheaper endeavor.

and .86/rd is decent for brass case, right? I think it is throwing me off because they have the Wolf steel stuff for .62/rd

You can sometimes run up on Korean M2 ball for cheaper than that, but you have to get lucky. It is hard to beat 86 cents a round these days. Especially if you want it now and don't want to spend a bunch of time on the hunt for a better deal.

I've been keeping an eye out for about 8 months now and haven't seen any. I will admit that I haven't looked through any gun shows but I don't think that is usually the cheapest around, either.

I have seen $12-$14 per box Korean surplus M2 ball at a couple shows from a couple different sellers in the last year. It sold relatively quickly, but not so fast someone couldn't have pounced on it and bought several hundred or more rounds. If you go to shows anyway, it is worth looking. If you don't go to shows anyway, then it probably is cheaper in the long run ordering the Prvi. I tend to go to a lot of gun shows anyway, so I have already spent the time and money to be there. :)

The CMP still has some loose Greek surplus HXP. It is 200 rounds for $160 (80 cents a round) and free shipping. It is usually good shooting ammo and nice reloadable brass, though perhaps a bit dirty and in need of a tumble before shooting.

Great deal on Korean PS ball in the classifieds. Seller is in the triad, too.

I'd check the lot numbers on any PS Korean ammo before I bought it. I seem to recall there was a specific thread on the CMP forums talking about some bad lots of Korean PS ammo and it included a chart that identified the good and bad lots. I don't remember if they said that any other Korean ammo had the same issues. Better safe than sorry.

And, for whatever it is worth, I've never run into any bad PS ammo. Not saying it isn't out there, but I've never had any problems with any I've had.

I've only ever shot HXP, so I have no first hand knowledge of the quality of Korean ammo. It seems like most of it is good. Just do your research.
