Just ordered a 7” scorpion and brace for truck/home defense. I’m looking for a budget friendly red dot sight that sits high enough to use irons if needed. I’m thinking of something like the sig Romeo 5. Any suggestions or feedback appreciated

The stock irons on the CZ Scorp were a bit low for my taste so I upgraded to AR-15 standard height irons and then added the PA SLX micro prism. It has multiple riser options in the box and I was able to get it to lower 1/3 co-witness.

Although the battery life on the prism is excellent and it also has shake-awake tech to save battery life because a prism has an etched reticle it is always there even if the battery is dead.

It looks like they have revamped the lineup recently and demand is outpacing supply, but the FDE version is still in stock:

If you were using a brace, which one?
The SB brace’s cheek piece was way too high for me to use the sights, or dot. The OEM CZ brace was right for me.

A holosun aems on a low mount will co-witness with the factory irons.

I use a Romeo5 with no riser and factory irons with an SB Tactical brace.

I go in the other direction.

I have a Halosun on a 1/3rd mount with a .75" rail riser. Very tall and very fast.

The high mount does two things
1. Lowers the stock into my shoulder pocket correctly
2. It Allows me to maintain a vertical position and not crouch over

This prevents my neck and shoulders from getting sore and less fatigue on the range.

This optic setup is fast when shooting multi-shots and such.

I have a Holosun HS510C with standard Magpul sites and really like the setup.

Another +1 for a holosun. The 403b and 403r are fantastic budget options.
