Good afternoon...is there a recommended brand of optic plate to look at or are they all very similar?

This is the way.
I use DPP Titanium
I have used both C&H and DPP Titanium. I've had no issues with either, but thought the DPP was the nicer product at a lower cost. They do not have as many options as C&H, though.
That's what I found when I was looking for a plate. Just too many negatives to take a chance. Ended up getting the Springer Precision.
But yeah, optic and platform is important information. Mine was to put a 509t on my P320
