So I went to the Greensboro show and picked up a DPMS Oracle. Price was right. Didn’t go to buy anything non reloading related. Couldn’t build it for the price I paid. I’ve changed the grip, hand guard, and installed BUIS. Now I need something for the BUIS to actually back up. Scope? Red dot? Holographic? I dunno. What say ye? And why? Rifle will mainly be a range toy. No intended purpose of the rifle. After it was an impulse buy.

What kind of range do you have access to?

Range toy, common drill type stuff to 200 red dot. Primary Arms has good decent priced ones.

Small targets, group shooting, beyond 200, low powered variable 1/1.5-6ish.

Bench queen, mid power, 12 or 14 on the top end.

Red dots are fast but I love me a touch of magnification, LPVs give up very little speed but add bulk and weight. Also if new to red dots look thru before buying, dots turn to blobs for lots of people.

Shoot it as is and learn open sights before putting on an optic.

It had no sights when I bought it. I put BUIS on it. I’m pretty handy with open sights. This rifle will mainly be used by the wife, kids, grandkids when they get old enough and graduate from their 22’s, and people new to shooting.
What kind of range do you have access to?
A family friend property. Maybe 200 yards.
MRO for $315 off Botachs eBay store.
Damn that’s about what I paid for the rifle. I’ll check it out.

200 yards probably just use irons or get a red dot.

Unless your eyes are bad!
