The socialist system , as it's being enacted here in the US, is predicated on the idea that they vote and the rest of the people comply while a small handful of enforcers is able to keep the population in compliance. It hinges on people believing in the sanctity and righteousness of the vote and hence feeling an obligation to submit.

When this changes, it's going to get real messy.

I think we definitely need to pay attention to what happens in VA as it will filter down to NC.

The zombie apocalypse talked about a few years back appears to just be the infection of liberalism as it takes over our nation.

Our side just didn't turn out last night in Wake county.

We had the numbers, but in my area they got about double the turnout that we did. At least, that's my early take on the results.

Virginia is primed for a lot of changes to gun laws. Look for magazine limits and AR ban. The border of gun rights Will shift another state south.

I find it a bit odd that given the recent highlights of racism and sexual assaults among the Democratic leadership in VA, that minorities and women continue to vote them into office. Seems like the lamb favoring their own slaughter.

And yet women voted for Trump. Weird how people aren’t single-issue voters, isn’t it?

People need to wake up cause there are plenty of people in NC that don't give a damn about your gun rights just like the people in NOVA. They are uncomfortable and it is your fault. Suppose you live in a rural area and need the law? Many places in NC it would take 15-20 minutes + for them to show up and by that time the situation is history. So we just have to use baseball bats or I know...run over the problem with your car. More people are killed everyday in car wrecks then from firearm shootings. Lets ban cars.

Better buy that high HP car now cause there is a safe electric one coming your way soon.

Sad day for the South cause others are trying to change our way of life.

If you've been paying any attention, you would know that all those things only matter if there's an (R) after your name.

In 2018, NC went into the election with 76 R's out of 120 seats in the state House. Democrats took eleven back. Lose six more a year from now, and it will be the same in NC. State Senate, flip five there for the same thing. And we have a D in the Governor's mansion. Dan Forest is running against the Governor, and he's rock solid conservative and good on guns. He's down in the polls but climbing.

This is why VCDL & yes, GRNC are so important. Most folks know nothing about issues until they are passed, unless we inform them.

I have immense sadness about this, Virginia has good memories for me... I may never get to see Monticello again... :(:(

Yes, they are. However, certain things, like inalienable rights are not up to the vote. Organizations like these are a voice to the politicians, they are activists in the courts, they are warriors on the moral side of the war. We are rapidly reaching the point where dialogue is not enough.

Could lose reciprocity with VA, wouldn’t be able to carry there any longer. That would suck.

Yeap, we're one step away from the "taking" and all our elected professional representatives are looking for new ways of championing the change.

Yes, I had forgotten that. In 2015, the gun-hating Attorney General severed the reciprocity agreements with 25 states. I guess it's because they have so much crime by out-of-state CHP holders. The Republicans that controlled the Legislative branch (all of you who say there is no difference between the R's and the D's should be paying attention here) sent a bill to the Governor not only restoring those 25, but also recognizing most every other state as well.

Now that the D's are going to be running the Legislature, and most of them were elected with Bloomberg money, you can be sure they will be rolling out Bloomberg's gun control wish list.

Based upon the maps I’ve seen, it’s mind boggling to think they control the state. The idea that a population dense region is dictating to a region 10x or more it’s size just doesn’t make sense. Something is out of whack and needs to change.

    https://freebeacon.com/issues/va-go...-proposal-could-affect-millions-of-residents/

While short on details, Northam's announcement said part of the proposed gun-control package would ban the "sale, purchase, possession, and transport" of undefined "assault firearms" including "any firearm that is equipped with a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds of ammunition." Since the vast majority of semiautomatic handguns and rifles in the state are sold standard with magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds, it appears the proposed ban would affect most firearms on sale in Virginia. Additionally, the announcement of the ban did not include mention of any grandfathering to allow what NSSF estimated would be millions of Virginians who already own such firearms to legally keep them.

The governor's office did not respond to multiple requests for more details on his proposed ban and confiscation plan or answer questions on how such a plan would be enforced.

Does this bode ill for Virginians, especially the Liberty-living kind?

    Absolutely.

Should we fret over it here? That depends on us, and how we react to it.

Hear me out; when we talk about draconian gun control, it's always California, or New York, or Illinois, or Connecticut. Some far away Left Coast or Yankee Progressive shithole where it's just expected and wholly unsurprising.

Now, it's at our doorstep.....in the former Capital of the Confederacy, no less. It's here - and I, for one, think it's a good thing.

The mask is coming off, the time is close at hand to determine whether these United States remain the Land of the Free or just another home of the enslaved.

All the Fudds and fence sitters will face a choice. So, too, will all the rest of us:

    Free Men or slaves.

    Citizens or subjects.

We, the People.......or They, the State.

    Tough choices. Consequential choices.

But a choice that WILL be forced upon each and every one of us.

I would encourage all of you at the line, with friends on the northern side of it, to provide refuge for those too timid for defiance, but not so timid as to give up their Arms.

So it's time for all the gun owners in the Carolinas to hang together.... because I hope everyone knows the alternative.

Draconian laws depend completely upon the willful compliance of the People. They don't have the resources to enforce the law in the face of mass disobedience. This, too, is a choice.

Wonder how the vote turnout was. Usually the people that need to vote, don't show up for off year elections. The left is enraged at Trump, and every election is a middle finger to him...they won't be missing elections. State races are a must vote...and if gun owners don't see the tactics for gun control have shifted to the state level...then we are next.

    ...and there's more

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) of blackface fame boasted this week that his party is ready to implement an array of gun control measures in the commonwealth now that Democrats control all three branches of government, and his administration is already "working on" a plan for confiscating so-called "assault weapons" from law-abiding gun owners.

    What are the details?
The Washington Post reported Wednesday that Northam wants to bring back eight "common-sense" gun control measures that Republicans shot down during a special session in July, prioritizing "universal background checks, banning the sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, restoring the law that limits purchases to one gun a month, and a red flag law that would empower a court to temporarily remove a gun from a person deemed to be a risk to himself or others."

When asked directly about whether he is supportive of confiscating "assault weapons from gun owners" Northam replied, "That's something I'm working [on] with our secretary of public safety. I'll work with the gun violence activists, and we'll work [on] that. I don't have a definitely plan today."
