Out of heat treat

Right now those look like the ugly stepsisters from Cinderella, waiting for your magic, to turn them into beauties

I notice a differing pattern of holes. Is this for balance purposes?
That’s part of it, as well as reducing overall weight. In addition the holes also act as epoxy bridging joining both sides of the handle. I use micarta liners with drilled hole patterns between the scale and the knife handle. I think it makes a very secure epoxy glue up.

I had not really thought about that aspect of it. That is a great idea. I take it this ain't your first rodeo?

I’ve been making knives since I retired in 2016. Knife making has always been an interest of mine as far back as I can remember. Now it’s a passion I can pursue almost daily. I’ve been very blessed.

Unbelievable the stuff you put out after only doing it since 2016. I would have thought it had been a lifetime of experience!
