Hey guys. This is the closest heading for my post, but feel free to move it if you disagree. To qualify as a Meet Up, if we find one you're all invited!

I'm in Charlotte and have a buddy in Ashville. We're looking for an outdoor range roughly half way between us. We shoot mostly pistols but each have a couple rifles we'd bring if the range suited them.

I said Hickory simply because that's the rough half way point, but really anywhere within 90 minutes of both Charlotte and Ashville.

This is the best option I know of. I've been there once. It's a nice facility. The long rifle range was not open when I was there. I've heard it's open now.

It's limited hours it's biggest issue for me. Sunday is the most likely day for us to meet up and they're only open 3 hours on Sunday.

They're big on safety, which is a great thing. Especially after shooting at Leed's Range in SC a few times. Though the one time I was at Foothills the Range Officer seemed a bit overboard. But everybody's balance between safety and freedom balance differently.

Unless better ideas come from you guys, this is where we'll go.

Yes, Bullseye is still around. It's smaller, but I personally like it better than Foothills.
Three pistol lanes, maybe six rifle lanes (memory is failing me lol), limited parking at the range. Pistol ranges out to 50 ft and rifle out to 275 yds. No R.O., we're all big boys here, and tannerite allowed at one point but I'll have to double check of it still is. You can bring your own steel, those bouncy little ground targets, and Ive even seen folks bowling off a sawhorse table there once. It's very NFA friendly, to include full auto. It has a dedicated rimfire rang seperate from the centerfire range.
The last time we had a get together like this, the gun shop let us set up grills in their parking lot and do burgers and dogs.

Good pictures @draco88. What are the days, hours, and cost?

Closed sundays, no shots before 8 a.m. and none after sunset Mon-Sat. I think its 15 an hour but thats not really enforced if 1) you pay for an hour or two and 2) it's not super crowded. Dont pay at all and there is an issue. Ive seen folks pay for an hour, shoot all day, and it's not an issue. The owner is retired and it's kinda just his hobby.
The gun shop and range are across the road from each other and owned seperately (years ago same guy owned them), but the shop handles the range money for Larry. Mike and Chad (my wifes cousin) run the shop and can answer more.
Im a member there (limited membership and signup is already closed for this year), so iffin you wanna check it out sometime, you can come as my guest. Just let me know, big guy
