Someone recommended this to me on Netflix and I watched the first episode last night. It's about an investment banker (Jason Bateman) that launders money for a drug cartel in Chicago.

Don't want to give anything away if you haven't seen it but let's say that by the end of the first episode he is forced to move to the ozarks and launder 500 million dollars over the next 5 years.

I really like it so far. JB is really doing a great job in the role.

Anyone else watching this?

I binged it. Watched the final episode last night. Looking forward to more.

JB really does a good job. I have come to like him as an actor. I found it to be an interesting show.
My favorite character by far is the little trailer trash curly blond girl. Not sure if she was in first episode. She's ruthless!

I will now.

Wife and I started it last week and we are on episode 7 I think now. I'm hooked on it, great show.

Started it over the weekend, think I'm on episode 6 now. Had to start it over because the wife got hooked on it. Good show so far, for some reason the production kind of reminds me of Banshee, which I really enjoyed.

I have seen all that's available on netflix. Its a good show. I would recommend it to everyone. Its has some good twist and turns. He manages to wiggle through. Hope that's not to much of a give away?

Lol. No, after his soft shoe in the very first episode and wriggling out of that one I figured there would be many more episodes of him doing much of the same.

And I have to tell you, having only read the synopsis on the first episode and what little a friend told me the scene at the trucking company took me completely off guard.

Great show, but Jason Bateman's leftist political injection is getting tiresome by episode 9, and the homo crap is just totally unnecessary. - I won't say anything due to spoilers, but you will all see it.

Quite obvious that Season 2 will just ramp it up, as Hollyweird always does. I can't even count how many shows I stopped watching because of this.

I'm only about 7 episodes in and his cuck attitude toward his wife's tongue after being the one that cheated, not to mention wanting to reach through the screen and give that disrespectful ass daughter a beating has me wondering if I will continue watching the show.

And I agree, the homo stuff I think is done purely for shock value. They could have injected that same story line without making it gross. There is far more shown in the homo sex scenes than the few hetero ones thus far.

Not just in reference to Ozark, but it is hard to find anything that does not push the LBGTXYZ agenda...ruins A LOT of shows my wife and I start watching...some implied homo stuff is tolerable, but throwing explicit scenes into nearly every episode is just too much for us older bitter-clinging deplorables.

IDK, gay dude cop was a psycho, and other redneck guy was.... unpleasant at best. Didn't really feel like it was pushing a gay agenda. Just made it more weird.

Uhhhhg.

Just wait till you see where the Gadsden flag is placed.

Saw this thread this morning, happen to be home sick as hell (1st time I have ever called out). On episode 8, thanks for the recommendation, pretty good series!

Binged it over the last week or so...2 seasons!

Good show!

wife and I are enjoying the show, Im from the Ozarks originally.
I have some kin that live in busted trailers like that, minus the lake view.

Wife and I watch. I think Laura Linney's character will become the real morally corrupt character over time, willing to to do anything (even kill) to further her family. Wife disagrees, but I pointed out the many examples of her slowly becoming more evil. Jason Bateman will have to choose to leave her or stop her...somehow.

You read it here first!

My thoughts exactly! She had Ruth's dad killed...and I think she liked it....the "power" that she has thru the lawyer lady...

Ruth is my favorite character.
I kinda like Jonah...or Mike Flemming...lol

That kid is gonna save the family I feel...either with his gun...or his off shore accounts

But Ruth does make me laugh a lot with her taking charge and not taking $hit from people

Now that Papa Langmore is gone, Ruth really doesn't have any more motivation to steal Marty's money. He put her in charge of about 100x more cash than she ever thought she'd get her hands on. What now for her?

Daughter-boyfriend subplot is boring. I want Rachel to come back so she and Marty can finally bang and get one over on his wife.

One thing I thought was weird;
In the first season when Cade was still in prison, they spoke of him in hushed and whispered tones, like he was this ultimate bad ass Hannibal Lecter type dude,
Then he gets out and is just a Whisky Tango A hole....

Anyone else get that vibe, like they switched his role or whatever?

Yeah..I kinda thought that too. He had a kind of slingblade bad ass air about him....
