bought a new barrel, seems like it fits just fine, gun goes into battery and cycles fine, anything else I should check before dropping the hammer on live rounds.

Backstory, want to like the gun but accuracy is terrible and the barrel fouls badly in just a few rounds, like 15 rounds. Not sure why it picks up copper/lead as badly as it does. Have spent days getting it super clean and it still fouls right away. Maybe a former owner polished it excessively and it’s a little oversized, maybe should try some oversized cast bullets. Any other ideas?

Got nothing on the fouling issue...we shoot nothing but jacketed stuff through ours so no issues there.
Really surprised about the accuracy issues, though. Ours shoots the wings off flies at 10 yards. Super tight groups right where I put the sights.
An out of spec barrel could definitely answer both questions. It's not unheard of either. I bought a M11 a few years back and it was very ammo picky. Would shoot some brands just fine, wouldn't let others into battery. My smith took a look at it and rhe chamber was just a few thousandths out.
As far as shooting it, if you dont feel any obvious binding and it passes function tests, Id personally go for it.
