I ran across this new Pachmayr grip for J-frame snubs....I don't know whether it's really clever or just a solution in search of a problem....will let the forum's snubby connoisseurs opine...

Very cool. Had not seen this. I'm in. Need at least one.

Surprised that there is not much in the way of commentary here.

Really interested in this but it is on backorder, even from the manufacturer.

I thought it was a good idea, I just don't know how well it's been executed.

I find it refreshing, in this day and age of the striker auto, that someone is still taking enough interest to make innovative products for revolvers.

That little "hesitation" deploying the extension could come back to bite you in the butt. If someone has been shooting revolvers for any time and haven't learned how to curl the little finger under a J frame, well, I don't know what to say. Maybe some new guy in R&D??

It looks like the senior class is in agreement here. I see it as just a gimmick and as something else that could go wrong at the worst possible time.

I dunno. I'd try it.
I'm kinda leaning towards it's probably a decent product, and that's largely based because everything I've ever had from Pachmayr has been good stuff. One of my favorite-er companies that's pretty much a safe bet with quality.
As far as is it a good thing for edc? Maybe not, maybe so. I have lots of guns that only ever see range detail and have items on them that I wouldn't use with a carry gun. And except for the carry it around part, those guns usually see more play than the edc regulars. So for a favorite range shooter I can see these working well.

I am definitely trying it.

I prefer things more traditional but embrace innovation, particularly as it relates to revolvers these days. Got to keep it fresh. Not worried about any sort of malfunction. If that happens you just have a standard two finger grip.

What happens if an escalator breaks? It becomes stairs. I think that's what we've got here.

Interesting, just not sure that extra little bit of grip is worth the potentially hesitation. I always had .38s though, I can see how the .357+ crowd would want and need this.

I think that the "hesitation" you see in the marketing video is for dramatic effect. No reason that it cannot deploy with a smooth draw. We'll see.
