Anyone used one of these now discontinued dust cover rails for an optic mount? I picked it up a while back but never liked how high the optic was mounted (admitted I was using tall red dot (Aimpoint Pro). I also questioned how well it maintained zero after removing the dust cover. I ended up taking it off and going back to iron sights without even shooting with it.

Anyone had success holding zero with this type of mount?

Never had one, but they're highly regarded by owners. Apparently the owner of Parabellum was a pretty big turd bag, and screwed over the inventor who was deployed at the time. Inventor was able to win a lawsuit against owner and then marketed the AKARS through a partnership with a different company, while Parabellum went belly up.

They do well at holding zero from the reviews I've seen and read.

I just saw a couple threads about this court case, that really sucks for the inventor, Chris Mitro. I also saw that the inventor was trying to produce them again, but couldn't find them online anywhere.

Yeah it was pretty sad. Glad to see he was able to recoup some of the losses but still.

Last I heard Lithocore was producing them and Circle 10 AK was at least one retailer (https://www.facebook.com/4circle10a...hnikov-kalashlife-ak47-ak74/1786986331337586/), but the AKARS doesn't appear on Lithocore's site any longer, at least from what I can tell - https://www.lithocorex.com/producttag/19/akars.
