We're spending the weekend up in Lake Lure so I made it a point to make the trek up to Party Rock today. No one was interested in going this morning though, so it was just me. Made an early start and tried to hit the summit just past sunrise.
The trail is short but steep in sections and is heavily washed out. Definitely a lung buster in a couple of steep sections. The trail was well worth the views from the top and the 60 degree temps made it even more nice.
I expected to see more signs of the fire (even though it's been 4 years), but most of the vegetation has grown back with only the occasional charred log remaining.
