This is not the type of post I was wanting to have to share, but here we are.

I was informed Friday evening of the passing of a member many of us may remember, Mushu Gordon, Aaron James Sawyers. He took his own life Friday.

I met Aaron a few times, he was always a cheerful sort, brought us some great deals on ammo cans and the like. Bought himself a second hand ambulance to repurpose for his travels around the state meeting people and conducting business. Even my wife who met him only once remembered him and his shenanigans.

Guys, we as a community need to continue to be vigilant about the well being of our brothers. Mental health is a real crisis in our country. I didn’t know Aaron well, so I can’t wax on about his motives, his pains, and his demons. But I think we can all come together and pay a parting farewell to a family member who left us before his time, for reasons we will never fully understand.

Rest In Peace Aaron.

Aww dammit man... that's terrible. He was a great guy fighting a tough battle with PTSD. I recall helping him move some ammo cans around in his ambulance and someone dropped a can outside or something. His reaction told me he was battling some genuine demons. And I know he didn't feel like the VA was getting him the help he needed.

You deserved better, and I hope you finally found some peace man.

Please update this thread with any info you find on services and what we can do for his family

He had a significant other or very close friend he frequently mentioned back when he was active on our boards. I can’t remember the nickname. Panda? I don’t see anyone else mentioned in the obit.

He was a great guy. Didn’t hang out with him much but I met him all over the state to pick up surplus on his travels. Hate to hear this.

Never meet him but remember his on screen personality distinctively. On line he seemed to be a great guys. I remember him talking if Heath issue but never knew what it was. Prayers to his family.
I think he had major health issues that he was struggling to address based on his past posts.

I met him a few times from the old site, yeah he sold a lot of ammo over the years, I used to give him niche calibers or whatever I couldnt use from time to time. He was a heckuva personality.

I know he was in a great deal of physical pain for a long time. This makes me very sad :(

RIP Aaron.
One of the first things I bought from him was some antique interior locksets- complete with glass door knobs. My wife had always had a desire to have glass door knobs in our house- when she was very young her grandmother had them. She remembered them as "diamond" door knobs.

RIP. I never met him so I don't have the privilege of being able to say anything about him but I hate to hear of the way he went. I never liked the phrase "committed suicide" that sounds like one did a criminal act. We don't know what pain he was in and perhaps it had just gotten too much for him.

I met Mushu Gordon and Panda a few years ago when 8 bought some ammo from him. He was battling some pain back them, but was such a funny guy. He had me laughing the whole time. We talked about cars and life and such.He was telling me about a Corvette he was working on. This saddens me. Rest In Peace buddy.

Man, hearing this sucks. I hate he lost the fight.

Mushu use to borrow my trailer to make his runs to wherever he got his surplus. Despite an open invitation to use it whenever he needed it, he'd always ask permission first. Always put it back where he got it. Always left me a thank you gift inside.

Rip buddy.
