Pat McNamara: Boost Accuracy With Long-Distance Bullseye Drills

Pretty much been my view forever.

I am all for speed up close which is easy. And a proponent of quickest speed that allows acceptable accuracy for the situation, which takes gobs of self control and awareness as difficulty increases. Some days that situation might be a 3" spot at 25yds I feel much more accomplished to get that then rip off sub 2 bill drills.

So many good points in this vid.
I like Pat. One of the few “tactical” trainers I follow. He’s a good shooter.
His Instagram is a gem full of good advice on shooting, working out, metal music, and how not to be a complete pussy!

The sheer drive & force of will it takes to have followed the career path that he did is mind-blowing. Takes a whole 'nother kind to follow that path. At 49, I feel old & broken & he's 5 years older than me & still an absolute beast.

He also doesn't buy into the "you won't use your sights" nonsense...speaks from experience.

Ok, here it goes...

Training on a square range will get you killed! :p

Commence with massive firestorm and thread drift starting now.

I listened to his JRE appearance today. Pretty interesting. I might have to look into his classes. I have read some of his stuff on M4Carbine but didn't know he was in NC...

I've known Pat since we went to Jump School and Special Forces Qualification Course back in 84'. Later we went to Dive School together in Key West FL in 85'. Later he went to CAG. Good solid dude.
