Most of the shooting in my area (WNC). Charlotte, Wilkes, Boone is IDPA or 22 steel. I'm not getting a lot of long gun trigger time, especially on the clock. Considering buying a PCC to shoot in some of the local IPDA matches. Wondering just how beneficial it is or if I should just stick with handgun...

Would love to hear your thoughts....

@RecoilJunkie has a PCC match on months with 5 Tuesdays at blackstone Charlotte, otherwise I would recommend CGGR again

IMHO, PCC is a lot of fun at the USPSA matches and is great if you are wanting to get more trigger time on a carbine. The 9mm blowback rifles recoil about the same & maybe a little more than a regular AR15.

I have no experience with IDPA. I am hearing from others that the stages are relatively lower round counts as compared to a USPSA match. I wouldn't let that hold you back though if you are wanting to get more trigger time.

The other thing is that there are also the outlaw matches that offer pistol & rifle competition where you could shoot PCC.

I say go for it!

I tell ya what...after shooting 3 Gun for several years...PCC is way more pure fun. Tons of trigger time with 1/3 the hassle and gear.

Walnut Grove will be hosting a very well run PCC on 8/12. This match is relocated from Clinton House. I don't know how the stage layouts will be compared to running at Clinton House, but the last several matches have had rounds counts around 250 over 5-6 stages.

Agree with above. PCC is just more funner. If i had to gauge a match shooting handgun or pcc i would say pcc is tenfold more exciting. I say go for it!

Hawkeye Gun club. Lake Lure, 3rd sat of the month. Has uspsa with pistol and pcc

I ran a PCC for the first time ever this weekend. It's way, way different than a pistol (obviously) and is a whole new skillset to pick up, but it is fun. Not sure how much I'll get into it since competition is supposed to be just practice for carry for me and I don't carry a carbine around but as an occasional distraction it's worth it at the price point I'm in it for.
