    No 5.7x28 allowed? :(

If I was able to get up there for a class, my current truck gun would be my 1st choice.

    But I do have a 9mm SBR (AR platform...suppressed) that I could use if the AR57 is a no-go.

Keeps my target package the same. I want to run steel on some shots for feedback and bottle necks are a no go.

This is a cool looking class John. I was just talking to Tim at @Apache Solutions about my thoughts on keeping an ar-9 carbine in my vehicle a couple weeks ago. If I end up going that route this will definitely end up on my wishlist of trainings to complete!

If its a 9mm carbine in your truck I say its a bad, real bad idea. 9mm pistol, different story.

Sorry, meant Ar9 pistol. Had the itch for an 8" glock platform AR either PSA or Freedom...Makes more sense to me to keep the same magazine as my carry gun. I'm no LEO or military, so I won't likely be running to the sound of gunfire, but peace of mind of a larger weapon system in the vehicle is an idea I've toyed with.

So I agree with the AR9 pistol with a brace. More so then a SBR for a in the public firearm.... I get the run to the gunfire statement. To be honest, I and everyone else has a hard concept of scope for a backup gun. I say this because the reality of the primary being used is low, the odds of the backup being uses is lower. The value is found in not reactionary for direct action use. Like think about a home invasion and your loved one calls and you can respond? I would rather jump out and run a PDW then a G19 in such a situation. So there are real situations that direct action techniques do a apply, but its limited.....

I hope you can make it, its going to be worth every dime!

Pretty sure I am going to sign up. Just to clarify, with the mag pouches, I assume they need to be able to be attached to your person in so way? So drop leg, belt, chest rig, etc?

Thats correct attached to you by duct tape or belt or what ever...

I would request that its your rig fir the PDW. But you might not have a rig for the PDW.

I am going to be upfront about my use of support gear. My needs are unique. I have a instructor belt, a duty belt, a breaching vest, a active shooter PC.

Keep in mind i do this stuff professionally so it makes since for me to have kits.

For a normal person i do not think its wise to have kits because its not practical unless you shoot competition.

If i was going to pick out your kit for you this is what I would do.

If the kit is for all mag fed guns you own buy this.

    https://www.highspeedgear.com/hsgi/HSGI-leg-rig-V1-21DL00.html

That V1 will support AR15, 9mm anything, SR25, bolt guns, glocks, you name it. It does it all.

If you want a chest rig i would go this way.

    https://www.highspeedgear.com/hsgi/ao-chest-rig-40SCR1.html

And buy the tacos and blow out kit as shown in the image.

If HSGI is too rich for your blood then i would buy two of theses and let that be your foundation.

    Guys and Gals,

Time is getting close all my supplies are in for this class.

I have room for a few more of you all.

This class will be a great event and honestly not like anything most of you have done in the past.

For anyone who has not trained with me I am not a classroom power point kind of trainer. We do it live on the range. I talk you through the task, demo it, then coach you. Once you show a level of basic skill, I stack the next task, never leaving the other task behind.

As the day goes on each task is stacked on-top of the other to build a set of skills to form a foundation.

When you leave the training I will give you a set of tasks to practice your new found skills to gain a even better level of use.

@Miss Lily and @JRHorne I have room for you two in this course. We are at 6 students now, you two would be 7 & 8.

    Students,
Just finished up the course layout and student handouts. As we get closer to the class date I will send all registered students a email with your take homes and info about the course.

    Not to far away now!

Finally found a decent QD sling setup for the PC Carbine.

    Catalyst Arms HardPoint Kit.

Puts an ambi QD point at the stock spacer and at the forward rail. You then have MLOK slots at 3/6/9 o'clock. Combine that with a 45 degree MLOK rail and the TLR7 is in a very natural position for me.

    Looking forward to testing this out on the 23rd. IMG_20190311_162522.jpg IMG_20190311_162530.jpg IMG_20190311_162535.jpg IMG_20190311_162547.jpg IMG_20190311_162552.jpg

That's a great setup. I am interested in seeing how the Ruger does and how great a system is you have.

Everyone of the drills I have planned will showcase the advantage or disadvantage of PDW's for use of the white light.

For all the students, you should have a white light on your PDW for this course, if not, its ok but you will want one after the course. for you all that do, make sure you have good batteries in them, we will use them the whole day. This use even in daylight will build the pathway in your brain on using a light in a critical defensive situation.

For those that attended the class, what muzzle device worked the best on a 10.5 to 11.5 inch barreled AR Pistol?
    Thank you.

This class was pistol caliber only. Of the four students that attended none ran a AR9 and no one had a muzzle device.
