1st post here and also from the "other" site. Hello to all.

As for the Pedersoli, anybody have one? Are they worth the money? I'm thinking of getting one.

Looked at Pedersoli's then stumbled across this Shilo Sharps. Its in 45-120 and kicks like heck, but so different and fun to shoot. Only can go around 6 rounds and shoulder starts to give way, but worth it. May get a 45-70 to save shoulder life in future.

Holy crap! I'm not sure I'm man enough for that round...

Notice I don't shoot many rounds a session....it really wears you out that is for sure. I definitely wouldn't be waving it around like they did in the Quigly movie, that would be a work out.

Thats a cannon.....damn

I shoot my Dads H&R 45-70 trap door saddle ring carbine, but that looks like it'd hurt....

Post like this and the OP gives me hope for a better gun future where we dont have to talk about ARs. Thanks for sharing.

An 11 pound 45-70 won't recoil that hard. It will shoot softer if you use black powder. And I would buy the Pedersoli. David Pedersoli, an avid BP shooter makes their barrels in house. I was talking to Lee Shaver of Lee Shaver Gunsmithing, another top BP shooter. He recommended that he would choose Pedersoli for the barrel. Lee shoots a custom rifle, hi-wall, with a Shilen barrel I believe.
Lee Shaver makes an awfully good Soule tang sight. I bought one for the 38-55 and two shooters bought them. Can' beat them for the price.

You will be hard pressed to find a nice Soule with windage and elevation at that price.

If you are looking for a little wicked deer rifle or target rifle, study the 38-55 Winchester. Pedersoli has them at 11 #s or 8#s.

Pedersoli's are good to go, and much more affordable than the Shilo Sharps.
Not taking anything away from the Shilo, but I can't afford one.
I like my Pedersoli very much. I can hit golf balls at 100 yards on a pretty regular basis.

That 45-120 looks like it would be fun to shoot, a couple times. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the info on the Pedersoli. I went to Cabelas and looked at what they had in stock. They looked to be well made. Probably will get the Hunter model since the Shiloh's are out of my price range.
