Anyone going to this thing??
Professor cancelled class on Friday and distributed 4 day vendor passes to some of us. I've got two and we will probably go Friday if the weather holds up. Saturday if it rains on Friday. The events listed on the site look to be pretty fun, lots of stuff happening throughout the day(s). Never been to the speedway, so that in itself should be good for some picture taking.

If anybody is going Sunday I've got two passes you can have but you have to come to me. Steele Creek area, southwest Charlotte, 485 exit 3 or exit one, not far from Olympic High School. Exit 3 is where the Charlotte Cars & Coffee is now.

PM me.

I have some vendor passes you can have. However as we learned yesterday, and because we didn't have the sticker for the car, we had to park with the regulars.
Gotta come get 'em if it's worth saving the $13 admission. PM me. The funnel cake guy was awesome.

I took the day off Friday to go to the Auto Fair but it rained, so we went Saturday, Weather was great. Saw some old friends, heard a few stories. As usual, tons of cars & parts. We spent most of the day searching for parts so we didn't look at or take many pictures f the cars. Seems like when you go you can look at cars or look at parts. If you try to do both you don't end up doing much of either. Here's a few pics.

First thing I had to do was drop off some pieces for a customer who didn't attend on Saturday. He asked me to leave them with Earl Tindol. He was there with one of his Mustangs he entered in the AACA show. This part of the Auto Fair is on the outside of the track on Saturday morning ( no admission charge ) on the pavement just outside turn one.

Thank you for the pictures

We spent a few minutes with the older gentleman who owns this car. A true original survivor car, original paint. Purchased a few years ago from the original owner. Nice car.

This is one of those events that if you've never been, you have no idea how big it is. If you're looking for something and you don't find it, it's only because you didn't look long enough. Whatever you want, it's at this event.

.

It was a fun Saturday. 20k steps! I took about a thousand photos, literally, but I'll attach my favorite. No look click. f8 and be there. Good stuff. Fun day. The dodge thrill ride was a blast; I opted for the charger.

Early 1960's Plymouth with the cross ram intake manifold. Gotta be one of the coolest engines ever.

My Dad had a brand new 1961 Chrysler Newport, 2 door, rubber floor mats and vinyl seats with that 413 Wedge cross ram in it. I had a wonderful child hood growing up with these cars. I was 14. He had a little 4 car cab company and a whore house in Florence S.C. Oh!!! Happy Days!!!! All the "important" folks in town wanted to know my Daddy, but none of them wanted me to date their daughters. I did anyway......
The last time I went to the Spring show in Charlotte a pal of mine from Florence, Ronnie Summersett bought a Maclaren Mustang and drove it back home. About 10 years ago.

I enjoy seeing cars a little less common than the usual pony car hot rods.
