The match consists of five stages. Stages involve the use of rifle and pistol in a USPSA-esque practical shooting environment. Total round count for the match is no more than 200 combined (rifle and pistol).

Shooters are divided into five divisions, based on their rifle: Centerfire Optics, Centerfire Irons, Pistol-Caliber Carbine, Heavy Metal, and Rimfire. Pistols are unrestricted and may be used in any class.

Setup: 8 AM
Registration Opens: 8:45 AM
Range Officer Walkthrough: 9:30 AM

During the Tactical Match we run a cold range. When not shooting, all firearms must be unloaded with chambers empty and magazines out. Chamber flags must be showing in all rifles. If you don't have a chamber flag, they are available at the match.

NO ARMOR PIERCING OR GREEN TIP PENETRATOR RIFLE ROUNDS ON STEEL TARGETS!

Ahem, I believe you mean February.
Not that it matters to me. I haven't shot the match in over a year anyway. [emoji45]

Great match, can't wait to get back there. Unfortunately I can't make this month. Hopefully next month!

Any stage previews? It's my birthday weekend and I have free reign from any thing that would prevent me from coming out. And, I have a single stack that I need to put through it's paces.

I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the match will be held as scheduled. Light rain is forecast in the afternoon and evening, and I believe we can fit the match in without the targets getting ruined by rain.

The bad news is that due to the rain, Stage 3 (Hogan's Alley) has been modified into a more traditional stage, without the semi-blind aspects of shifting no-shoot targets and target identification. The probable use of rain covers on the targets means that not every shooter would be guaranteed the same basic ability to discern a gun or knife from an empty hand on the target, making the stage unfair. This concept will be tried again in a future match with better weather.

Given the rain forecast, I ask that everyone makes an effort to be on time. All shooters need to be signed in and present at Bay 3 by 9:45. This will help us get started faster and get everyone home and out of the rain sooner.
