Link less barrel. Change caliber by just swapping the barrel.

That is scraight up bad ass.

Beenie weenies for a year shouldnt hurt.

For all your getting, the price is pretty decent. $1000 just in mags. The race ready package really has my interest.

Of course this crap comes out a month after I order my damn SVI!. I'm not sure it would have made a difference because I seriously doubt the ability to perform reliably with so many different parts that are interchangable. It is a hell of a price though for what you are getting and PT is known for quality.

Brian,
You get one asap and test it out and let us know what you think.

This was my first thought. Even about PT’s reputation. I am still skeptical.

ETA: Really cool idea and I hope they pull it off.

Barrel lock up like glocks or any other striker fired stuff. Nothing new.

Not saying it won’t work just seems like more than a barrel swap for everything to run optimally. Extractor/ejector relationship for example. I would imagine that a pistol tuned for a specific caliber would run better than one tuned to cover 2 bases. I say 2 because 9 and 38sc are not really different rim wise or at least I think. I only watched part of the video and maybe they address all of the above.

I agree PT makes amazing parts and the folks designing and building these are far smarter than I am. What’s more is all of the items included make this a great deal and that’s saying something at the better part of 5k. I hope it works great and they drive innovation but I remain skeptical.

I believe Infinity does this already with interchangeable breechface and barrels. Keeping the same extractor.

I believe they do and this is another group smarter than I am but I stick to my original statement about having a purpose built pistol being better tuned than one setup for multiple different calibers. Plus aren’t you team .40 minor? Why would you need to go to 9mm for 3gn?

I like 4o minor for the occasional grins. Love 40 major.

Dont like 3 gun. So Im not gonna be a customer of this set up. But really dig the ideas and offerings.

I think it’s a really cool idea too but so did the dude that thought up house boats which make for meh houses and crappy boats. Do all’s aren’t always better IMHO.

Third time: I hope this works out awesome for PT and this is a super cool idea but I remain skeptical.

My apologies to those who live or own houseboats.

I like the idea. It's neat. Hope it works great.
But, in reality, I just need a gun that works for whatever division I am running. Doesn't need to do it all.

Honestly, I'd rather have an SVI limited gun, personally. Just don't know many people who shoot limited AND open.

No box for 3gun that I am aware of, so extended big sticks are OK for .40 afaik.

Bless there hearts?

Hope I didn't sound douchy!

But there is a zero chance I will ever own one. Doesn't mean I don't think it is cool.

I really think SVI's and Porsches are cool, I mean really really awesome, but likely will never own either.

I never thought I would own an SVI either but I finally said "screw it" and placed my order. I sent them $1k as a deposit and will pay a little every month and have most, if not all of it paid off by the time it's ready. I have very few bills, kids out of the house and support themselves just fine, and this is about my only hobby so I figured why the hell not.

I can live without a Porsche, they're just not big enough on the inside for the FatBoyFlash!

Good for you man, it is my dream gun!

Chris Tilley was kind enough to let me shoot his open and limited guns when I was hanging around his shop as a newb some years ago. It made a really big impression on me. As did Chris! But they were the most amazing guns I had ever felt and shot. Since then, I have shot many many guns, but none have left me feeling like that. So, to me, it is still the standard by which all other guns shall be judged!

And, if I come into money, the very first thing I will do is go to the gun builder on the SVI website. And the next? Porsche dealer for a new 911, of course!

Yep, I shot James Turnure’s SV and fell in love. I’ve been shooting a friends CK open gun and it is a very nice, very reliable gun but that SV is in a different class altogether.

Yeah. That looks totally freeking sweet.

Do most open shooters change caliber often? Or is this more to shoot Limited in 40 and change out to shoot 9 in Open using the same package deal?
