I have been seeing a few uppers in the PSA daily emails lately that have phosphate treated barrels. Is phosphate GTG of should it be avoided?
 
phosphates promote algae growth in water... you dont want algae growing in your gun barrel... accuracy would drop tremendously.

Fake news...the algae acts as a natural lubricant and increases longevity of the barrel through the dissipation of friction and heat. Get it right before you bring that false information here.
 
Just another way of saying parkerized most likely, since it is a phosphating process.

Manganese Phosphate = Parkerize... Same thing...

Same stuff that is on a mil-spec bolt carrier group..
