Local dealer stocks Pulsar and Sig. I went with the entry-level RXQ30V from Pulsar. The Sig model they had had an extremely narrow field of view. Looked good, but had an extremely cropped image.

I sold off my NV over the past few months. I've had a FLIR PS32 handheld for a while now and have been using it to spot in the evenings. Then I would use either a PS22 or PVS14 for taking my shots. I lent my FLIR to a guy from work and he ended up buying a Pulsar APEX model immediately. I made the mistake of looking through it and the night vision wasn't going to cut it for me anymore. So, here I am today still with the FLIR handheld and now the RXQ30V. I've been out a few nights with them and think I'm in a good position to get some more coyote now. The FLIR is still good for scanning and I can get a little more detail out of the PULSAR. I'm using a 25yd zero with some fast moving 55gr ammo. It's got a pretty good point blank range. Perfect for where I'm hunting.

Here's the rifle setup.

I'm finishing up an AUX battery pack for this thing. 123As are some expensive batteries! I've got just over $20 into the USB power booster from Staples. The sleeve and strap I sewed up using some scrap material at work. I'm going to get a different USB cord this afternoon. The white clashes with everything else. It's a tight fit to get the power pack into the sleeve, but I can slide it back and forth about a 1/4" of an inch to make the power lights visible or not. Simple.

You making me jealous, nice tho. Thermal and NV is what sets up apart from a lot of places. Good Hunting.

nice! I've been planning a similar setup. Where did you find them in stock local to look through?

I paid $3500+ for my Gen III ITT PVS14 many years ago. Thermal wasn't even a consumer commodity back then.
If I were starting all over today, I'd put that $3500 into thermal from the get go. That model of Pulsar that I got was $1800 out the door from a local dealer. You can get them online with an upgraded mount for a hair more.

Butlers Jewelry and Loan in Forest City. They had this one, a couple of XQ30's, and one of the SIG models. A buddy from work has an APEX series that he bought from there too. I think their inventory changes pretty often.
