I'm in the process of building a 8.5" 300bo that I plan to SBR. In the meantime, I want something on the end. I used the Shockwave on a previous build and didn't really have many complaints. That said, there's a couple of new models out now that I'm interested in.

SB Tactical has released their PDW brace which I really like. MSRP is a joke at $300+ but it looks like they're going for $230 which is acceptable. https://www.sb-tactical.com/product/sbpdw/

SB's M4 is also getting good reviews.

Gearhead Works has an all aluminum brace that looks really nice as well. Supposedly it's out but haven't found it for sale yet.

Anyone have any experience with these? Thoughts on them? Any chance someone has experience with these AND the blade?

Ever considered no brace? Just a buffer tube?

Especially if you're only after a temp solution.

I have but, having shot both, I prefer the brace. And it's temporary for this gun but will most likely be used again. I'm sure this won't be the last pistol/SBR I build. I traded my 10.5" to a buddy looking for his first AR and I kinda miss it so I'm sure it'll get replaced at some point.

I've got a Shockwave blade as well, and I really like it. Is smaller than the Sig Brace and "cleaner" looking. IMHO. I don't like the look of the Thordsen either.

I have a 300 blk pistol, and I like the way the sig brace balances out the back end. it does add more weight but it handles better.

I run the shockwave brace on my 11" 5.56 pistol. I've had no complaints with it. Its made the pistol very easy to control.

Tagged this thread to watch. Just got into my first AR pistol and only running the buffer tube now. Just ordered a 7.5" .300 barrel that should be in this week for an extra upper I had. The buffer tube cheek weld was okay, but not really satisfactory to me. Several people I know are running the KAK, but I have not shot one yet, so still open to ideas.

Shockwave blade for the win... they're really nice, AND veteran owned. Oh, the price is good too!

Shot my 10.5", 5.56 pistol today for the first time with the Shockwave Blade. Very nice. Would definitely recommend...

Husband of my wifes friend says the Tailhook is really nice....from SB Tactical. It is quite a bit smaller than the Sig models. He put the Sb Tactical adjustable model brace on his sig MPX.

I have only shot my AR pistol with just the buffer tube. Factory loads are a little much (recoil, flash, noise) but if you handload your own ammo, H4198 powder makes it much more pleasant to shoot.

Have been checking out the Shockwave, liked it, but good to see a review. Shot my 10.5" .223 upper. Damn that is a lot of stuff going on right in your face! Got my 7.5" .300 bbl. in and test fitted my other upper components for the pistol. Everything fits together nicely and just need to tighten everything up before test firing. Got one of the Midway AR Stoner barrels. Figured at 80 bucks, could not go wrong and would not be out much money. Barrel looks great, rifling and finish, everything fits up nice. Have not shot yet, but for the money, well pleased at this point.

This is what I have so far:
Hopefully will kill a deer this fall, so I can at least say they are useful. First pic is a 10.5" .556, 2nd pic is of the 7.5" blackout that I just put together.

For the money, looks and functionality the Shockwave is the way to go IMO.

Okay, I will say it first, How I know I may be gay! But there was already a lug and I had a bayonet, so could not help myself. Once I do the mag dump, I am sure it is the bayonet that will save my life

Are you planning on jumping out of the stand and on top of the deer to stab it?

you can add knives to anything and make them better for when the zombies come

Okay, finished product and first 50 yard group. Believe I could do much better with a little practice or by adding a brace. But overall, pleased with the performance.

Watching this thread as well, My 9" 300 blk upper will be here mon. Since it's temp I just used a Phase 5 pistol receiver extension. Can't decide on the shock wave or sig.
