Does @BatteryOaksBilly know about this??????

Yeah, he is the one that turned me on to the S&W Shields. You know, I don't keep up much with "Plastic Guns", so I have no idea what is being made these days. But I really like the Shields. First, they fit my hand well. Second they work, so far in 45 ACP and 9mm, 100%. They replaced my tote around in the truck guns, which were those little Kimber's, with the Mammoth Ivory grips! I promise if something happened to those, I would not be a happy person! If something happened to one of these Shields, Oh well, they make them every day! And last, but not least, PSA has them on occasion for $249 each! I like that part a lot! I now have 5 9mm Shields and one 45 ACP. I can't hardly resist them when I go over to PSA on the website. I think I must look for at least one more in 45 ACP, you know, "A Pair of them"......... But no rush......

Everyone was showing off their Plastic guns, figured I would show off mine too........ LOL..........

I actually tried to purchase two Shields yesterday evening. Ended up with one as the second had a feed ramp that appeared to have been polished with a jack hammer. After I rejected it (they had no others in stock), they agreed and marked the box with a large RTV post-it.

Before I left the store with the one Shield, I saw them offering the buggered one to another customer. o_O

Inventory management...……...

Wilson Berettas are great shooters--congrats on the purchase!

Thanks. I got out to the range last week & put 250 rds thru her. Just a sweet blaster. It receives a lot of heavy fondling out of the safe. It ain’t going no where.

Congrats on the NYPD 3914DAO! :)

Mine has a lot more........"character". It was carried a bunch, but not shot much. I am in the process of fixing that. 210 assorted rounds today to check for function.

That small gun shot like a 5 inch race gun. Very accurate. Enjoy yours! :) Regards 18DAI

@Michael458 you have some nice plastic guns but I'm intrigued by that metric adjustable wrench. Did you pick that up in Botswana?

Have two more plastic guns that Doug is holding right now from PSA. Waiting for PSA to get some more 45 ACP Shields, gonna pair the one that I have in the truck.

That adjustable wrench? Hmmmmm??? Don't recall, but I must not have torn anything up with it yet, or Billy would have taken it. I did "secretly" get a new Moto Tool the other week when no one was looking. I can really do some serious damage with that.....

Recently Billy was on about that 9mm 1911...... Hmmmm???? Never had one, never put much thought in about a 9mm 1911............Might be fun. I found one, Kimber and decided I might like to have that..........
Fun to shoot, shoots well, glad to have it, but don't see needing two of them........

I was on a 1911 grip kick a few weeks back. I bought some incredible wood grips and a few Mammoth Ivory that will knock your eyes out. This set was one of them, Cherry. They looked pretty good on this gun, I tried several others I had, but I knew the minute I put these on, that was it. I only had one set, and this is the only one of these I am getting, so it worked out........

You should see the Mammoth ivory that is riding on the Nickel Gold Cup. This set has blue fungus stain, and it really matches well with those fire blue screws, almost can't see the screws..............Have another set of blue fungus stain Mammoth Ivory slated for the #2 Nickel Gold Cup, matching pair of them........... Woo Hoo..............

Gonna have to wait until both guns are together....... One is still at Ford's........ Hopefully on the way soon...................

Until then, just have to look at these.............. Thing is, I changed these grips out later, no longer on these guns, something better now............

I am a die in the wool Glock fan and I can honestly say the M&P Shield is a better all around “pocket” gun than the Glock 43.

I taught my wife & daughter to shoot with Glocks and they both immediately took to a full sized M&P 9mm I had, when the 9mm Shields came out both of them wanted Shield 9mms so that is what they got, I’ve told many people that the Shield 9mm honestly shoots like a full sized gun so you get a very concealable gun that is extremely easy to shoot well, don’t get me wrong, I liked the G43 a lot but imo the Shield is easier to shoot well, especially for a novice shooter.

Very good friend of mine got a G43 and accessorized it, and a Shield Pro 9MM. He was always a diehard glock guy.

I now own the glock....

Never took to the Glock. Had a few, just didn't think much of them. Was many years and Billy put me on the S&W Shield in 45 ACP, kinda liked that, especially for my main purpose, which was to get my finer guns out of the every day ride around in the truck or boat or what have you. Plastic guns to me are like plastic rifles, best tools on the planet, and you can't have too many of them, but not much for looking at.........Tools, like hammers. As stated, Shields fit my purposes in many ways.

When it comes to handguns, I am a Die Hard 1911 fan, and don't have much interest in anything else. Have been since laying hands on that very first one back in the early 80s........Once again, Billy turned me on to that as well with what we fondly refer to as the "Swenson Gun"........... Since then, there has been no turning back.

Whatta tease

OK, little teaser.....................

I thought my Elephant Ivory had found a home on that Nickel Gold Cup, but since I will soon have two of those, and I now have two sets of blue fungus stained Mammoth Ivory for those, I had to find something WORTHY of the elephant Ivory that my Pal Billy got for me. You can't just put them on any gun, it has to be a gun with "Character", with History, and something very special..........

I can think of no better gun I have than what Billy and I call the "Swenson Gun"..................... So Be it............I made it so.................

The Swenson Gun is a hard one to get decent photos of, I really was not very pleased with any of these. I took 40 photos, only got 5 or so half decent ones and not really happy with those.........Grips look much better than in the photos............Old gun has had many a round shot through it, and many different parts over the years.........Been blued so many times most of the writing is about gone from the slide. It has been many a mile..........Retired now for at least 20 years......... But still kicking around.......

Jeebus, that setup gotta weigh a friggin TON

But it sure is fun...The Osprey 45 is actually quite light and balances the gun well at 11 ounces. The rmr weighs next to nothing. Now the 34 rounds of ammo is another story. But that weight is on the same plane close to the CG of the gun. I’ve only shot it this way a couple times since I’ve had it. I’ll try and get a total weight on it all in.

Just weighed the individual components.
54 ounces all together—

21 Oz empty G19, no mag
20 Oz 33 rd fun stick +1
11 Oz Osprey 45
2 Oz Rmr & mounting plate

Still feels balanced in the hand. Certainly not something to CC.
