Pistol Picture Thread

I'm not holding my breath, but I'll even take one that works most of the time....lol.

Have you tried any full size 9mm 1911 pistols? I have full size 9mm 1911 pistols by Springfield, Colt, and Kimber that all have been 100%. I have not shot them as much as I shoot my 45 Auto pistols, but they have never given me any problems. I would be curious to hear if any of the 1911 gurus around here have found any differences between full-size and shorter 9mm 1911 pistols as far a reliability is concerned. I seem to recall that you have been trying one that is not full size.

Really digging this M&P 2.0 3.6.

My FNX-45 and FNX-45 Tactical. The FNX is my favorite 45. I love these guns.

My Sig P226 Elite SAO. The 226 is my favorite 9mm. I am more accurate with this gun than with any other.

My Sig P938 Equinox and Sig P365 MS. My two favorite EDC pistols. I love the look of the 938 more, but I can't argue with the capacity and accuracy of the 365.

My wife's Sig P238 and my Sig P938 Equinox. The 238 is super easy to shoot and very accurate.

Plastic guns........Good tools, not much for looking at...................

As you know, its 1911 or go home....... for me anyway..............at least for looking at...........

I got this gun early last year at some point, belonged to a friend of Bill's and myself, that passed also last year....... So glad I was able to get a few of Bob's things before he went to the shooting range that awaits us all. This gun had a ugly ass set of digital camo Crimson trace grips. Ugly, they worked, but ugly. Kept me from really falling for the gun. Like the earth tone bottom. I had a set of Buckeye burl laying around, and not committed to another gun. So I tried them out on this gun, and it changed its entire demeanor for me.............. It will now forever be in this dress..............

I can't remember if I posted these before or not, if so, just overlook it................. I really like the 4 inch 1911s. I was always very partial to the Ultras, but having handled and shot the 4 inch guns for the last year or so, I think they have become my favorite these days....... Of course, if it's a 1911, I like it..........And I like the two tone guns as well. Ended up with some more Buckeye Burl, and I think these make a great pair................

Not sure, there's nothing on the gun describing it, like I see on some, like "Commander" or whatever.
All I know is it weighs about 3 # unloaded and has a really long barrel. lol.
There's a pic of each of my 1911s on here. The 9mm I got in Feb. of last year and posted soon after. Maybe that can help tell you if it's full-size? I don't know enough about them to make a determination, or exactly what makes one "full size."

Her's is a full size.
9mm is just not an ideal round for 1911's, which were designed for longer 45acp.
Well known to have problems, unless you get one that runs.

Lots of people run them in competition, but they generally reload and can control cartridge OAL, etc.

My Pair of Nickel Gold Cups are now complete, Nickel, Fire Blue Screws and Controls, and Mammoth Ivory Grips to complete. The Blue in the Mammoth Ivory is Blue Fungus stain from the ivory being in the ground for perhaps 1000s of years. The Blue in the Mammoth Ivory is about as close a match to the Fire Blue Screws and Controls as you can possibly get.......... damn near a perfect pair.......

It is damn near impossible to take photos of Nickel guns without a smudge or a glare........ This was the best I could do this morning....... Out of 50 photos, these two were it................And they are not 100% perfect either

If anybody doubts Ford's work they need to look at these. They are just 2 of 8 I have sent in the last year and a half.

Have you tried using a polarizing filter on the camera? That can reduce any glare.

I like taking good photos, and you are most likely correct, and I most likely have some filters somewhere here from years past. Just have to find the time and take the time to do so. So busy with other things right now and being behind on many shooting projects, it takes a place on the back burner.......

What is your opinion of this comp? Does it work?

I haven’t shot the CZ but I have shot the Glock one.

It takes a little bit of fine tuning to get it to run reliably but once you do it works very well.

My BHPs are too valuable to carry now. Also, it keeps me from being a Lemming, and buying a CZ!

Totally unnecessary to disparage people for making a different firearm choice than you.

Unless they like Grocks. Those people are weird!

I feel I am demonstrating good taste by collecting Colts, shooting Brownings, carrying Smiths, eschewing Czechs and not mentioning Grocks. If anyone has been triggered into feelings of disparagement, I apologize.

Naw, those are some beauties for sure. Don’t think anyone would be offended by the guns you post!
Just never want to pass up an opportunity to make fun of grocks, as you did well to the CZ nerds!

I thought you would see right through my overtly serious comment, and identify it as subtle sarcasm... did I fool ya? LOL!

I always say that no apology should begin with a conditional.
