I’m looking for a public range near Greensboro that I can shoot rifles. Anyone know any where? Long distances if there are any that are public

Assuming they're still in business, Wesmar in High Point and Triple Target in Archdale / Asheboro.

Wesmar is definitely still there.

Give Carolinas Guns and Gear Range In Ramsuer a thought.

Wesmar is open as Jeppo said. They have a 100 yrd rifle range with 5 stations, 20/25 yrd pistol range with 8 bays, a shotgun field for clay targets and anther shotgun range for target. Need to buy your targets there which is no big deal. For 20 buck plus 2 or 3 bucks for targets and you can shoot all day.

They do limit mags on the rifle range to 5 rounds at a time and you shoot seated at a station. Sargent is the RSO there and is always willing to help sight in a rifle or diagnose issues that pop up or even offer advice to help you shoot better if asked. I usually go there mid week (wed, thurs) as those seem to be the less crowded days with no waiting on any of the ranges.

Triple target is in Sofia. Rifle range has targets at 75, 85, 100 & 125 yards. They also have a pistol range and shotgun. You can bring your own or purchase targets there. No rapid shooting with rifles but no rules against full mags.
$10 per hour for non members and $6 per hour for members. Membership is $75 per year.

How crowded does it get on weekends? I’ve used the Caswell game lands range in the past and have just left sometimes due to overcrowding and not being able to get a spot. This is about the same distance from me.

Caswell is public but like @ChickenHawk said it can get crowded on the weekends. I don't think they have rules against rapid fire at least when I've been there the RSO hasn't said anything as I mag dumped.
Most hourly or day pass ranges are going to restrictions like no rapid fire or seated and prone only with rifles.
CGG has a nice facility but I'm not a member and haven't been outside of competitions.
I am a member at central Carolina gun club, its no frills and has a bunch of ranges out to 200 and are currently building one that goes out to 1000. Not quite sure when that's going to be done.

For stuff past 500 there's Hawks Ridge an hour and half west, but its only open at certain times as your shooting over a active cow farm. Theirs also Frontline Defence but they are membership only and are about two hours east of Gboro.

I am interested if there are any other places that you can shoot out to at least 1000 in the triad area as well.
