I've had this AK for the past 10+ years. Bought it from a guy I used to work with.
Please excuse the crappy furniture on it - I just never got around to replacing it.
Might wind up getting a nice set of wood for it, depending on what I learn.

Here's what I "know" so far...
Norinco NHM in 7.62
Has a "56" in the triangle beside the serial #
Serial # has an "MS" prefix

I know nothing about straight cut vs slant cut receivers. Looks like it might be threaded with a flash hider welded on (post-ban?).
Matching serial #s, if that matters much.

Thanks in advance!

Does the slant cut indicate an underfolder?

The rear of your receiver indicates it. There's an underfolder rear trunnion between those dimpled parts of the metal. Nice rifle - bring it back to life!

Underfolder AK receiver:

That's good to know. I appreciate the insight.
Thank you!

Time to do a little research to get her back to the original look.
Since I am assuming this is a post-ban, do I need to worry about any compliance issues with parts?

922r only applies to manufacturers. And I've never heard of a single person ever convicted simply for not having enough American parts on their imported gun.

Count those USA-made parts or don't. Up to you. Don't ask, don't tell.
