On April 15 at approximately 4 AM a gas line under our house started leaking. The furnace in my sons bedroom kicked on. There was a flash fire, then a kind of flamethrower from the hole in the pipe. Luckily, we were not at home. But my roommate was there, and called 911. High point fire department arrived on the scene within five minutes. The fire was quickly extinguished. We suffered structural damage. A lot of heat damage and smoke. Unfortunately, we have no property insurance only structure insurance. I met with the insurance agent today. He seems hopeful. Not here to ask for anything except may be a prayer. If you have anything extra you want to give great because right now I’m in a pickle. Damn, that sucks. Could have been A LOT worse, though. Thankfully nobody was hurt and someone was there to get a prompt response from the FD. Unfortunately, you still suffered a significant loss. I hope you get an adequate settlement from the insurance company. I also realize you're not asking for assistance, but you did say that if anyone is willing to give that it would be helpful. Is there anything you are in particular need of right now? Obviously, money is always good, but even those that can't afford to help monetarily may be able and willing to help in other ways.

We have a full size bed frame, mattress and box spring we are not using. Let me know if you want it.

I know it sucks but that could've been so much worse.

Sorry to hear of the damage to your home! Prayers up, please keep us informed when you move back in. I bet lots of us have stuff we can offer to fix your home up again.
 
Whew. Tough to see everything you have worked for just go away. A sobering reminder of just how temporary everything is. Stay positive and encouraged! God can and will work miracles even out of the most desperate of circumstances and situations. Keep us updated as to what you might need specifically. 🙏
 
How are things going @Paul Johnson ? Any updates or an ETA for moving back in?

I've got a queen-sized futon bed & frame in good condition that I can get to you if you need. Just let me know when you're ready. If I'm not traveling your direction at that time, I'll post it up in the CFF Railway thread.

Can anyone help? I am putting all my guns up for sale today! Still no help from insurance company. And we have ran out of money

Sorry I have not posted an update lately.still not back in our house. Having all kinds of problems with the city of High Point. We hired an electrician paid the guy he came out and did the work but did not finish it. I pull up to find a stop work order taped to my door. Then I find out the electrician did not get a permit to do the work. So I had to pull the permit. Now the electrician will not finish the work. The city will not allow us to finish the work. And I need the electric back on by Friday. Because I’m totally out of places to stay or hotels to stay in. Is anyone here an electrician? Or knows one who may can Help? I am at my wits end.
