Hoping for a full recovery. If I were him I would get my serves in Winston-Salem at Baptist. Just being connected to Wake is not the same.
 
He seems to be improving. Not out of the woods yet but they are moving him to a "step down" room. Not general population yet but a move in the right direction. Thank you for your prayers.

I've been thinking about starting a go fund me to help him with his medical expenses. If I can slow down long enough to research it.

Prayers sent. They can do a lot with clots now days. My dad had them bad a few years ago and is still dealing with them on occasion. They believe the issue stemmed from not enough movement during the day (a lot of sitting) combined with medication.

my clotting factor stems from my time in the weapon plus program, but im not supposed to talk about that.
 
I started a go fund me for him today. It goes against my grain to ask for help especially charity. However; he is going to need all the help he can get financially and physically as well I suppose. I thought about starting a new thread for the go fund me but I'm just going to leave it here for now.

They moved him to what they call a "step down" room yesterday. Basically the Nurse has 4 patients instead of 2 in the ICU and he has a private room now. He told us that he will start physical therapy soon. He was talking a little bit better yesterday. He has been coughing up some of the clot. Obviously he is exhausted, you can get any rest in a hospital.

Every little bit helps and I know this will relieve some of the financial pain he is going to go through in the near future. Please share this around if you would.

I just got the ball rolling ... best o’ success to Chris. Had family in this predicament, never woulda come out of it without the help of the shooting / 2A community!

Clot recovery is a long painful road, moreso when its a double PE. Good thing is there are better drugs available now, cause coumadin is a pita.

A little better each day. He was more talkative today. Grouchy even, which is a good sign. He is having trouble sleeping aside from the hospital noise, He said he falls asleep and wakes up 15 mins later, mind racing. I'm sure he is thinking about money, job, etc. He had his first PT session and they talked about getting him walking in the halls. I am pretty sure he is off oxygen as of today. No news on a release date.

Grouchy as hell!! :) I call that a good sign. In all seriousness, he is doing much better the past couple days. Still sore and gets winded. Hasn't used his shower stool in a couple days. Progress is slow but steady. Mom was headed out and asked him if he needed anything, he replied "A new body"
