The staff is having to clean up a lot unacceptable language in the open areas of the forum and also the chat box. Most members are keeping it clean but we have a few that want to cause us more work. We are going to start issuing warnings and time outs for the offenders.

There are areas of the forum where adult language is allowed. Keep it in these areas and there will be no problems. And stop trying to be cute and use symbols in place of letters. You know what you mean, we know what you mean, everyone else knows what you mean. Don't do it.

Again, we have areas of the forum that you can use your colorful language. Keep it there and out of the open forum and chat.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Yeah, sorry about that.

Well, I used cutesy symbols so as not to say....well, poop! So I confess! I used to work in a hotel kitchen, and we cooks can sure cuss! Lol

Is this the thread where I give a disingenuous apology for not bowing to political correctness?

Maybe I don't pay attention enough, but you are not one I would have expected that from.

Politeness and respect for others have absolutely nothing to do with political correctness.

Would you use foul language in person and in public to stranger's children or random people in general? Cause that is exactly the same thing. I know you are able to avoid bad language because you can't use it on amateur radio.

All I have to say, gosh darn it, is if I'm wrong, dang it, I'm wrong. I'm man enough to own up to it if I'm called to the carpet about it.

Does British slang count? 'Cause it's not a cock-up to say "bugger off", which doesn't exactly mean what one might think on this side of the pond, and it's one of my favorites.

And who doesn't like a bit of spotted dick once in a while?

Ok I’ll bite bugger off?

I've been known to drop an occasional S, D, or H, which I don't really consider as profanity, and are more mild than what's allowed on over the air broadcast networks. I do make a point of avoiding anything, hard core.

What you'd really like is for no one ta watch any bad language. :D It's like typed n stuff.

And I found out that replacing u with v doesn't necessarily make the word acceptable.

Bvnch of prix.

I would suggest that when a mod/admin/forum-God finds a message they consider unacceptable by their standards that they just delete the post, rather than poorly editing in a manner that changes the meaning to something unintended by the author or renders the message indecipherable.

I loved Looney Tunes when I was growing up. I still do. Naturally, my children also enjoy watching Looney Tunes. However, they have one distinct advantage.

Watching Looney Tunes with Closed Captioning is awesome! This episode with Yosemite Sam trying to earn money from Bugs Bunny by being nice is especially enjoyable.
