Popular bands that you think stink

Hate: any vocalist that has been "Auto Tuned".
Dont understand Korn.
Like a lot of 70's and 80's rock bands.
Robin Trower box set pre order now on Amazon for Feb 8 release.

AC/DC is possibly the worst band ever. I'd rather listen to strangling cats...oh wait, that would sound the same.

Limp Bizkit, Korn, Puddle of Mud and I'll probably get blasted for this one....Tool. I can't stand Tool. Also nearly 100% of country music made after 2000 or somewhere close to that time frame.

Jonny Lang's first two albums were his best but between 2 and 3 he had some major life changes and started doing more of his own writing. It was a different style but I still like it.

Don't like rap/hip-hop, hard rock, new wave, electronica, grunge...

I am a old, classically trained musician. So much that has been popular since the late sixties/early seventies (with exceptions) is not new, just loud and atonal with some shrieking thrown in.

You aren't wrong.

Dave Matthews Band
Tom Petty
Bob Dylan
U2
Rolling Stones
Beatles

OH, and that reminds me
Grateful Dead
Phish
any 'jam band' which has freaking hour long 'songs' that are just them repeating themselves for almost an hour

Man, all you guys suck. Lol

I can listen to about anything. I don’t really like the new crop of country but I can tolerate some of it. Some rap. And there are at least a couple songs from almost every one listed that I like.

Now if we want to talk about disappointing live shows it would be G&R when they toured with Metallica. That was disappointing.

Pearl Jam (some of the old stuff is tolerable)..this is weird since Im a grunge kid having grown up in the PacNW when it all was new.

Rush. Just no. 17minute long songs? Those vocals ? Nope.

Then really I can lump things into categories.

Jam bands. Nope.
Nu metal bands.
Some old skool rap is tolerable, the new stuff is all garbage.
Anything autotune makes me cringe. Its like a thousand fingernails upon a chalk board.
Pop country.

Man, I disagree with yall on The Boss, I like him.
But, everyone is different and that's cool, right @Pink_Vapor ? lol

Never liked the doors
Never liked the Grateful Dead.

I think they are the 2 most overrated bands in history.

I don't HATE the Rolling Stones but let's face it, they are a nothing more than a garage band. Take Start me up for instance. Imagine you are standing in a garage or basement and your buddies are over, drinking and maybe it's snowing out, they start playing, they sound ok but a little off. Still they entertain you, but you are in your garage and can't ask for much more.

Yeah, I want to know who heard that tripe and thought, "This is good MUSIC?!"

There, I fixed the question for you.

Still great power pop. Liked 'em better before Bon Scott died.

Thought of another I can't stand: Queen.

It's funny, so far we musically agree on what we dislike, not on what we like.
I have a feeling my ears would suffer much going on a long trip riding with you
Or you'd hate me at the end because I'd mock it the whole time.

Rush fan, can't stand the vocals or Eric Lifeson's guitar sound.
The only Jam Bands that come to mind are Allman Brothers and Tedeschi Trucks. I love 'em, but most of the songs are completed 3/4 of the way through. I click to the next song.

80s pop-this is simply the mosy unlistenable shit in the history of man kind. Thank GOD this awful crap is never played on the radio anymore.
Bro country or any modern country that is played on the radio.
Creed
Daughtry
Neil young or neil diamond
Spingsteen
U2
REM

Gentle correction: that's Alex Lifeson. Conflating with guitarist Eric Johnson?

So that pretty much rules out: Bach, Mozart, Palestrina, Allegri, Brahms, Dvorak, Haydn, Handel, Teleman, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, etc. etc., and I guess you're really destroyed by Wagner?

No excuse sir, it was a brain fart.
I don't like the tone, sound, nor when someone stay's way up on the neck. The high notes grate on me like a crying baby. SRV, Waylon, Santana, Chris Stapleton's guitar's are much more gooder on the ear.

KISS...... I just don't get them. At all.
This went without saying.

The sky will be blue. The grass green. And Kiss will always suck. No need to mention it--in fact, by doing so, you got a little bit of them on you in the process. Gross.

saw them in 90s with slaughter opening. they were actually much better than kiss. which isnt saying alot but still. youd think after all those years of experience theyd perform better than a band thatd been out a year.

i have to go wash my hands now.

My biggest hates on these topics are these more modern soft rock singers pretending to be country music.

I will say one that I'm sure tons hate but I absolutely Love from the 90's is back. Hootie and the blow fish is getting back together for a new album and tour.
