Possible national lock down coming soon

POTUS said yestreday I think that he had a conference call with all 50 state governors. Whatever? I think he is putting pressure on the governors to declare lockdown or shelter in place so he doesnt look like the bad guy and he can hold federal funds over their heads.

My buddy said he was coming back from Wilmington today and saw 50+ NG vehicles headed West on 40 and 10-20 mixed LE vehicles at the 95/40 interchange. Not sure how reliable the info is because he wears his tinfoil WAY too tight

Of course the govt is preparing for the worst in case things go sideways. Doesn't mean they're going to use them to make us play Xbox all day.

Why would Trump want a full lockdown everywhere? The more restrictions are imposed, the more the economy will be hurt.

Some areas need more restrictions than others. A couple of days ago, 10 counties in three states had more than half of the confirmed COVID-19 cases in the entire country. Washington still can't figure out it is ground zero in the US. Governors shut down the NYC metro area, although shutting down upstate New York was totally unnecessary. The LA government took action, then Newsom had to grandstand by shutting down the entire state.

I even fired up Fallout 76 yesterday. And minutes after logging in got a hello message from an online friend that was playing.

I have some friends that are full time missionaries in Bulgaria. They sent out a newsletter and thought you might want to see some of the bullet points:

  • Currently, there are just under 200 cases in Bulgaria with 3 deaths. Because the population difference is so great between the US and Bulgaria, it’s actually a similar %.
  • We are in “shelter-in-place” quarantine right now. Similar restriction to what they have in Italy. This includes GPS surveillance on mobile phone devices for those that have tested positive for the virus.
  • There is no intercity travel and checkpoints have been set-up around all cities in Bulgaria.
  • They have transformed a sports arena into a temporary hospital in preparation to the strain on the health system.
  • Schools have been closed for 3 weeks.
  • 84 doctors resigned from a local hospital out of protest for the way the government is handling the situation. And 2 hospitals have been temporarly shut down in Sofia to quarantine them.
  • You can track the developments on the website of the US Embassy of Bulgaria here. This site is usually updated once or twice a day.

I found the GPS surveillance and doctor resignations to be quite interesting.

Yes, GPS of folks who tested positive.
Im torn on it.
It's definitely an overreach, but at the same time Im sure some jackleg would want to break their quarantine and infect others.
But I dont want them to be tracking me at all times
(yes, I know our phones always track us, but you really think big brother cares that I went to home depot yesterday? nah)

It's not a problem, until they consider you a problem.

I remember numbers from 50 years ago but don't know the numbers for my wife or kids. That 's probably fortunate for them.
Ha! I'm from a pretty rural county. Most folks don't leave. I haven't had to learn all that many new numbers over the years :D Shoot, whenever I would call Centurylink to take care of something for my dad's phone, the conversation would go something like, "Sir, blah blah blah, oh I see here you've been a customer for FIFTY-TWO YEARS??!! Wow, thanks for being a faithful customer!!!" It's usually longer than the person on the other end has been alive :D:eek:

This is not just to you, but a question to the world about phones? :D

Am I the only one that knows you can actually leave your home without bringing your phone? Heck I do it all the time.

Yeah, you can, Ive forgotten mine before. But I wont intentionally leave it behind for a variety of reasons

Yep.I still remember my phone number from home as a kid and my grandmas number. Can't remember much else it seems.

Yep me too.

1 phone in the kitchen. Short cord.

Going to play cards today before we are imprisoned in our own homes. I was thinking of some recoil therapy, but i usually avoid weekends and with so many more newbs with little or no training, I can wait.

I did see what I believe to be a first timer, at least carrying, OCing in Denver Wally this morning. Wearing what appeared to be a brand new kydex OWB and what I could see of the gun just had that new gun look to it. I could be wrong, maybe he just got a new holster and is anal about keeping things looking new!

And in further pandemic related news, Autobell now charges $3 to disinfect your car before they clean it. They put some blower looking thing in the car and have the AC on max recirculated air for a few minutes. I just didn't feel like doing it myself and they're open. They did a pretty good job today, I was the only customer that early. They got a nice tip. The few carry outs or deliveries I've done get larger tips as well.

Is his phone number "12"?

i have f76. never even installed it. i still like f4.
even in quarantine, i'll be in quarantine.
At work, (yes, i still have to go in) they know i'm a gun nut that plays some video games. I have mentioned that through fallout and my expensive hobby, this is the moment i've been training for all these years.

Been playing a lot of Left 4 Dead 2 here lately.......

Lol, it's a little higher. But I grew up only having to dial five digits for the local calls (last number of exchange plus the four of the actual phone number).
Made me think of this commercial that was on tv when I was a kid....

Friends don't let friends play Fallout 76.

I restarted New Vegas for the umpteenth time. No socials monster melee build this time.

Fallout 4 is really good, in fact, they’re all good in their own way. 76 is different, but if you can take it for what it is, it is a good game. There is A LOT of game content and story, but you have to seek it out. It’s a lot like Morrowind in that regard.

Mine has been turned Off and is the seat of my truck. Neither has been touched since last Tuesday.

Can't have those armed drones homing in on your location. :D

I joke, but I've been to meetings were we pulled the batteries and left them in another location.

Geezer alert!

I remember our party line growing up. One day my sister and I were playing and using the phone as a prop. After a few minutes it rang. I answered and it was the operator.
"Are you playing with the phone?"
"No ma'am."
" Well, good."
Click.

Danged intrusive statists!
