Post-41F NFA Stamp Tracking thread

We received 7 approved form 4's back in today's mail. 1 from Feb 2nd 2017 and the rest were from late December 2017.
I'm assuming those people have been contacted already or should I expect an email :D?

Well I was pleasantly surprised today.

Opened the mailbox to find a letter approving my MPX sbr!

Check was cashed on 2/4/2018
Approved 6/13/2018

Trying to remember...you still waiting on the PS90 stamp?

Well mine was "pending" last week and is within a reasonable time to be approved according to recent trends so we will see!
I'm with ya on that. I normally don't call after verifying they're in the system, but I need to go to THSF to sign the forms for my Maxim. Called to check on my earliest one (pending 1/16) in case it was approved and I should wait for it to show up and save a trip. But she said "pending" instead of "pending BGC", and followed it up with the normal 8-month estimate. So, we'll see...

Now my issue is engraving. I was planning to take it with me and have Scott do it when my next can gets approved but I wasn't expecting the form 1 so soon. Anyone know of a place in Winston that can do the engraving today? I messaged @Unknownpro but waiting to hear back.

Ok, so on my account transactions I have a Business to Business ACH Debit on 1/12/18 that says Atf Nfa Payment. Does that count as the "cashed" date?
Yes. They don't actually cash the check. Most people that search for check number will never spot it. The vendor (BofA IIRC) receives the forms and processes the payment by converting the check to an ACH/EFT. Then they forward the forms to the ATF.

Ok, thanks! So from there, I should be calling them and asking the status of my Form 4 (purchased two suppressors)? Or is there a way to check online? Probably way to advanced for them, right.

Yes. I usually call once, about two months after check is cashed. I do this just to make sure the Form made it from BofA to the ATF and then there weren't any typos with the SN. After that, you just wait...

Do you all have a recommendation on doing cans as an individual vs trust? I didn't realize the Silencer Shop Kiosk let you do everything as an individual without using their OneShot trust.

With a Trust the items stay out of probate, you can add anyone you wish to the trust so they can use the items if age appropriate.

If I was using their kiosk, or any Powered By dealer...I'd do the Unlimited Single Shot Trust and never look back.

With you as the only RP, it's basically the exact same work as filing as an individual...but you split the info over two forms (F1/F4 & 5320.23 RPQ). Then you can add others after the fact.

I almost bought it yesterday, but called and they confirmed it was only available to use in their network. Since I was buying stuff Scott had in stock, it wasn't an option for me.

That's exactly my thought as well. I wondered though if I could do it for a Form 4 if I purchased an SBR/SBS and wanted to do a single shot.

Oddly enough, I also considered just buying the single OneShot and then once I got the documentation, just duplicating it in Word and being done with it. Obviously they're going to have to provide me a copy of the Trust anyway, so why wouldn't I just type it up and then from here on out, amend it just as they would and file it myself?

You could do that as well.

Well this whole "pending FBI check" sure has got me worried after reading up on it.
I wouldn't be worried. If you have a common name, or God knows what else, there's a good chance its just CYI.

details on the AK SBR?!

details on the AK SBR?!
Vepr12 SBS Parts:
JTE performance guide rod/lighter spring
CSS Buffer tube adapter
Tromix profiled AKT-EL trigger
SGM Modified Choke
Fab Defense GL-Shock
Scorpion grip
Chaos rail

LGS mounted the buffer tube adapter, cut the barrel down to 11 1/2" and massaged the ports. I installed a Tromix profiled AKT-EL trigger, polished the engagement surfaces on the bolt carrier, and the rails.

I was having issues with stove-piping, likely due to not enough dwell. I installed a JTE performance guide rod (with lighter spring), and was able to get 3DRAM Federal birdshot cycling 70%. But the dust cover would open on recoil. Ended up moving the button from the stock guide rod to the JTE unit and that mitigated the dust cover opening.

Finally I ordered the modified choke hoping it would add enough length to cycle reliably. It did and then some, it will cycle with the cheap white box Winchester 2 3/4 DRAM Xtra-lite stuff.

I used it at a 3 gun tactical match in May and I put a Holosun 503c on it when I got there, during the stage it was stovepipe city with the Winchester. (the day before the match I ran about 50 of the Federal with red dot, and it was 100%). I was out of the Federal figured no worries it will run the Winchester not so much. Need to test more with the optic on it.

Ejection could be better but as long as it clears I am happy

Man I've never seen one like that, I love it! Mind sharing what it takes build one at that level $ wise? I'd imagine similar to a comparable high-end AR.

Damn, lot of work... worth it though!

Spoke with my examiner this morning... let me tell you they are just as frustrated as we are at this point. She explained that my background was not an instant-pass for whatever reason (I have a perfect record) and that the FBI was currently processing background checks that were initiated in February, mine was initiated in May. It is what it is at this point and there was nothing she could do to expedite the process, she did mention if I had a stamp that was approved within 30 days she could apply that background status to any additional pending stamps. Apparently the recent push in Form 1's has to do with their efforts to get e-file back online. She said it's close. Sucks but nice to at least get some clarity on the situation.

Wonder if that's something they're actually doing? And if it's automatic...do they know you have previous submissions to even consider?
