So....maybe I’ve overlooked it, or I’ve read so much I can’t comprehend anything anymore. Long story short, I did a trust pre 41F, I have since moved (same county, different town).

My engraving has my Trust name and (old) city/state.

I want to buy a new NFA toy.

What should I do about the city/state on my trust? Should I start from scratch and do a new trust, then having two different ones?

Or do I just use my old trust, and just fill out the forms with my current address?

Does your trust actually have a city, state? Mine only has info to help identify trustees and beneficiaries...no address for the trust itself.

Usually you don’t need to do anything, especially if you’re still in the same state.

File new forms, using your current address. What gets engraved is the city and state of where you make the firearm...doesn’t have to be your home address or the location on the forms. You definitely don’t do anything with old forms or firearms that are already engraved.

And none of this really has anything to do with before or after 41F. It would’ve worked the same then as it does now.

That being said, there are a lot of people that do new trusts for each item. They start with themselves as the only RP, then add others after Form is approved.

Awesome, thanks!

My trust just has “trust name/city state” no address or anything., so I guess I’ll start shopping!

I was thinking about the fingerprinting requirement, especially in relation to trustees/beneficiaries. I should have specified that in the first post.

I may go the single stamp/trust route, just to keep it simpler, it works that way in my head anyway.

You can also do it in “batches”. I have my original trust with a pretty decent collection of stamps, and started a new one. It currently has about a half dozen stamps. Haven’t felt the need to add any other trustees at this point, so I’ll keep using it until that time comes.
