Post your 1911's

Slowly acquiring enough parts. Wish I'd just bought a slide, and not a whole top end, barrel and bushing are so undersized everywhere that matters I'll be lucky to hit a sheet of plywood at 10 paces. At least that garbage was only a little more than the slide alone, not worth it but not too painful.

The hacked up, home hot blued Champion. She's had some real sights milled in since this pic.

Try just dragging the photo from your desktop right into the reply window. Edit: Nice collection, btw!

Lots of nice stainless in there. I sense a predilection for shiney objects.

Colt Competition. Took off the blue Colt G10 beveled grips and used some magwell cut grips I had since I put the magwell on it.

You shooting it Saturday ?
I just ordered some Wilson ETM 10 rd mags and they won't get here till next week. I figure I'll shoot the Springer .45 this weekend (and next at Coharie) since I'm registered to shoot CDP at Ant Hill for the CCIC.

My humble three. Top is a Wilson Combat CQB Tac LE in .45acp. Middle is a 2011-type that I built from an 80% receiver in 9mm. "Commander" length with threaded barrel and is a great suppressor host for my Rev9. Bottom is my first 1911, a pawn shop score Springfield Loaded in .45acp. I did the grip stippling and recoated it.

You guys have nice collections. I only have one 1911. This is a 21-22 year old Springfield. This was before you could buy them customized. All the work on this pistol was done by a gunsmith I knew years ago. I bought in new in either 95 or 96.

I guess I can join the club now. I've always been a revolver guy but this Kimber Gold Match II followed me home the other day (yeah, the wife didn't buy that either). If it shoots as good as it looks I'm going to like this one.kimber gm2.jpg
