Post Your Furry Friends...

Coonhounds are awesome cept this one isn’t a hunter and would probably run from a raccoon...

Looks like maybe some aussie in him?

Looking good!

You would think, but no. No border collie either.
Check out embk.me/zip3 to see what his DNA test results were. Not at all what I expected. The test results are pretty cool. There is more as well, mostly medical, that isn't in the public results.

My girlfriend sent me this pic this morning. Let him out to potty and came back to find this. He found a paint roller that our pit in the background had hid under a bush and started carrying it around. He likes to just carry stuff around some times. Ruger, the brindle one is a 4 month old mastiff, Bell, the pit in the background is a rescue we got last Christmas.

I almost have my wife talked into a GSD. I had one as a teen, loyal, protective, smart. She likes security idea.

There on the top shelf is Snoop. He was a stray that was hanging around my house for a while. He was extremely skittish about humans and wouldn't let you close enough to touch him. I worked with him, gaining his trust for a few weeks before I could get close enough to put a collar on him. Now he's like a part of the family. He is available for adoption through P.A.W.S. rescue.

Ghillie on the bottom there.

There's Trini who started as a foster dog that the rescue didn't trust so they sent her to me for "socializing". She had spent her life in a kennel up to that point and didn't know how to act in public. Sad story, she was adopted by my cousin who soon after was diagnosed with stage four liver cancer and died so sh is back with me now.

A funny conversation with guys at work last night, "What's the oddest thing your dog did/ate?"
One ate a 3 layer chocolate grocery store cake, including the entire plastic housing.
The second was a family mystery, husband was suspect, until he mowed the grass. The pooch was eating mama's underwear, they were discovered covered in poop & wrapped up in the blades. I spit my beer laughing at that one.

This is our older rescue, the shelter estimated his age at 8 when he was brought in last winter. No history on him at all, found on a hiking trail in a remote area. He was probably a hunting dog, either lost or turned out because of his age. Poor boy spend 3 months in the adoption shelter, and while adored by staff he was kinda stuck there.

We had lost our lab a month or so before, and were looking for an older dog. We were about to leave but what caught my eye was someone walked a puppy by his window, and he got down in play posture wanting to play with the puppy. Visited with him and brought him home that afternoon as a foster, but only took a day to know he was a keeper. He was well mannered and house broken when we brought him home.

He has had an unkind hand laid upon him in the past, but is a terribly sweet dog. We have had him since April and he is still coming out and opening up as he adjusts. He enjoys frequent trips to the dog park, and often goes with us to some of the local breweries.

We haven't had his DNA tested, but he appears to be pure Plott Hound, definitely has a hound bark, and the ears, and people familiar with the breed say he is a Plott. (Plott Hounds are the NC state dog, and originated in Waynesville)

Leia hates laying on the hardwood, so she drug her pillow from the other side of the room to the fireplace. She was getting frustrated because her butt kept hitting the hearth and she couldnt get it closer. So, I had to help her out a little at the end lol.
Such a spoiled little brat :)
