It's been seven years now, as of the day after Christmas, since she had to cross that bridge on ahead of me. And I still like her better than any human, even if she'd not been the best bird dog you've ever seen this side of Dez's Llewellyn Hank. Maggie...

So, it's time...

These guys get weaned in a couple weeks, and will soon be patrolling the grounds at the Livermush Redoubt-

Things are quiet here today. Trini decided to go hunting by the creek yesterday instead of taking a ride with me. I came home to find her sitting on a deck chair with her left leg ground completely to the bone, right side of her face ripped off. Vet thinks she was hit by a car and drug for a while. She still didn't flinch when I picked her up and made the final trip to the vet.

Aw, dang, bro....sorry for your loss. She’s not in pain on the other side of the bridge...

Wasn't sure this day would ever get here. We had a Shih Tzu for 14.5 years that we had to put down about 3.5 years ago due to kidney failure. Her levels tested high at 6mo old, and the vet said we might have her for 6 more months...and she made it 14 years. Took some extra effort in the diet department, but she was truly our "first baby" before our son was born. (He was in 2nd grade when she passed, now he's in 5th...and a big reason we did what we did today)

At lunchtime today, we added this little cutie to the family. Meet Bailey Rey. (Wife, a huge Star Wars fan, added the middle name). Six weeks old this past Saturday.

Just saw this... my sincerest condolences to you JR.

It is hard enough when we lose them in due time, but a loss like yours is extra bitter. Cling to the memories, they tend to fade too quickly. Best wishes!
