I hate air conditioning!

I have never said the words "it's too hot".

I am the exact opposite. Unless I'm sick, I never say "It's too cold."
I love winter, and all it brings. The winter solstice is my saddest day of the year - it means the days are only getting longer as we march towards the humid hell that is NC weather.

There's not much outside I need to do during the day until Fall.

I shot matches every Saturday for the past four years. Didn’t care how hot or cold it was.
...but I’m taking the rest of this summer off.

??
Have you lost your mind, man??

I guess it's because you're so thin, and without all the fluffiness I have to keep the heat in, you don't need the AC??

Yeah....that has to be it. I'm going with that.

Mowed grass at 730am today. Riding mower 45mins. Sprayed some round up around the perimeter, 1 acre. Walked in the house and stripped off my soaking wet cotton tee. That's just ridiculous but very common for central NC this time of year. I hate it so but have been for almost 61 years. Fall can't come soon enuff.

The last one I did was in June or July of last year.....never again!
See you in December!!!

I used to skip the late July and all August pistol matches. I shoot to have fun and keep me out of my recliner but I cant have fun when I'm constantly wiping sweat and dripping wet.

My happiest times since I moved to NC have been at a range in winter, with my breath steaming out and my gun barrel as a hand warmer!!:)

Winter in general is my happy time of year, gun in hand or not.

I did go all last summer with no AC on in my car.....what was I thinking??? This year it's been on full blast.

It’s only 92 right now, but with a heat index of 109. My neighbor just got back from A-stan where it was 120. He hasn’t decided which is worse.

One has to ride no further down south than Columbia, SC to love our moderate summers. And if that’s not enough ride up to Grand Father mountain and leave your jacket at home, you’ll be running the heater on the way back but not for long!

I CANNOT STAND HOT!!!

From the girl born and raised in FL. I have lived in NC for 43 years. It is just as hot and humid here in central NC as it was there. Now, that said, I like the cooler late Autumn and Winter temperatures but don't like the grey/sunless skies and early darkeness that come with it. Oh the dichotomy! I guess I will just keep drinking.

As a kid, I really didn't mind it. In fact in the military, paramedic, whatever, I really didn't mind it so much. I did not always care for the in and out of heat and air conditioning, I'd rather stay in one or the other.

I'm finding the older I get the last tolerant I am of it, it just zaps my energy now.

I grew up on the coast, we would be on the beach from sunup to sundown, half the time we'd have a cooler so we wouldn't have to leave the beach to have lunch. Now I'm on the beach in the morning off by lunch time and I don't go back out until close to supper time.

I just couldn't today, I wanted to and sorta needed to, but I couldn't.
Tomorrow, maybe.
Like someone mentioned before- if I'm going to be out there, I don't want to have to go in and out. Get the job done, then cool off.
That all said, I prefer autumn/winter weather.
Oh, and I despise working in the rain. Never could get used to rain gear that made me sweat. Rather get sopping wet without the extra weight.

Nope, that ain't it at all.

Lol, that Dave Carrier guy should be shot on sight. His actions alone caused more Yankees to come south than Sherman’s March.
Thar ya go - a true son of the South!
@Millie !!!

I was trying to take a selfie today but the humidity kept fogging up the camera.

I guess you could say I have selfie steam issues.
That should be a bannable offense :D

For the folks that hate soaked cotton tees sticking to you. I found a great cheap alternative. Walmart sells these synthetic workout shirts that are amazing for $7. I have a bunch in different colors. They stretch well and when they get wet feel cool with the slightest breeze. They also don't stick like cotton does. When dry, they feel like not wearing a shirt at all. I wear them working in the shop, outside, etc and I'm not worried about ruining a $30 name brand workout shirt. The red color (GO PACK) does run a bit small. Most of mine are white, blue, and green. To wash, I wash like normal and just drape them over the washer (they are 80%+ dry) until the load is almost dry in the drier and then I throw them in with about 5 mins left before cool down to get the wrinkles out. No shrinkage yet. I'm an XL in size.

I've also tried the Haynes cooling shirts but did not like them. Felt like wearing a rubber.

I've started wearing some shirts like you describe that are from my road-warrior days with my former employer. I got tired of tearing up my good t-shirts working in the yard.

Yep, better there done that got the soaked t-shirt.

Not sure if you mean you went directly in for working ... but if you did ...

I’d suggest you not go straight in the house if you’ve worked and gotten so heated. Instead grab a nice beverage and go back outside and walk around in the shade, if there’s even the slightest breeze, to cool down kinda like walking a horse to cool down. Yeah, it might seem to waste 30 minutes or so but you actually cool down better by moving around plus going from hot air outside to cool indoor A/C you actually will kinda shock your body and won’t cool as efficiently. I don’t have any science to back it up but that’s what we were taught back in trading camp.
