Pre-41F NFA stamp approval thread

ATF got it sorted out and I just got my approved F1 SBR that I mentioned above. Control # 3240XXX. Submitted 7/7/2016. Took just a hair under 10 months.

Still waiting on some F1 suppressors with higher control numbers.

Finally got the email from Tarheel yesterday. Picking them up Saturday........................ I almost had a coronary reading the email.

Saw reports of two forms (same person) mailed on 7/13/16 being approved. First post-41F I've seen.

We received all of the forms back that we mailed on July 12th. We have about 80 or so more forms mailed before July 12th that have not arrived as of yet.
I guess it is determined how they are stacking the boxes or similar for the examiners. Some poor bastards are probably stuck on the bottom of the pile.

I submitted two of my Form 1s early in July and they took over a month to be reviewed. So, they have really high control numbers and a submittal date well into August 2016. I submitted one last Form 1 on July 11 and it got reviewed and approved right away, so it has a MUCH lower control number (like 30,000 lower) than the two that had been submitted a week earlier. Go figure.

If there's a pile, some poor bastard is at the bottom!

Tru Dat!

I hope mine was in that pile!! With my luck, I'm the poor SOB on the bottom.

Thank you sir. The pain is less than it was for sure but will continue for a number months.

Enjoy the suppressors and thanks again for the gear you dropped off.

Still waiting.............

Mine is still pending but from 7/10...

How does one figure the pending date? Is it the date payment is processed (e.g., check clears)?
Usually call and ask. Most of the time it's within a day or so of the check clearing, but really depends on who answers the phone. You can get dates weeks apart by asking different people the same question about the same serial number.

That's one reason I don't worry about it, and just go by the check cashed (or CC charged) date.

I've resisted calling about mine but I want to call really bad.

You can call the NFA branch with serial number and they will tell you.
When the data entry persons enter the information into the system in Martinsburg, WV, they back date the pending date to the day the $200 was received in Atlanta at the
lock box run by Bank Of America.

Went today and picked up my Spec War 556. Happy day! Wife and I were headed to the gun shop and my new CFF hat was in the mailbox. Just had to wear it to the shop.

Might want to call about that one. I'm getting 7/8/16 back with check cash dates of 7/11/16.
I just remembered I ordered one from you in July! Now I have something to look forward too!

This is to advise you that the status of your eForms submission with the subject Permit/Control number has changed to APPROVED

Permit/Control No: 2016328***
Your Reference No:
Submission Date: 2016-07-10
Form ID: ATF FORM 1 (5320.1) - APPLICATION TO MAKE AND REGISTER A FIREARM

Only 30,000 to go for my next one. Sigh....

I spoke to David Howell at the NFA branch last week and I asked him how many pending applications, Form 1 and 4, there are currently.
A little over 130,000 was the number he gave me.

Is the actual pending date 4/11 or is that the date it was mailed?

Good question!

It was the date it was submitted/accepted on Eforms. You'd know best , Scott, but I think when it's "accepted" it goes directly to pending on an E-forms, doesn't it? (Meaning you've filled in all the mandatory boxes and they've validated your payment?)

It depends. It can either go directly to Submitted/In Process, or it goes Pending Research.

When it goes PR, there's some manual intervention due to caliber/model/something. Then it moves to S/IP, and that's the date that'll be on the form.

But I didn't realize it was an eform when you posted the 4/11 date. They've been finished with April and May (and probably most of June) for quite awhile.

Have you opened the form in eForms and seen if it has the examiner signature on it? Sometimes they get approved but never leave the Submitted folder, or even move back to the Draft folder. What branch is yours under?

Silencerco Omega Form 4 Trust filed May 26, 2016.
Tax stamp dated 2-14-17, received by my dealer on 3-6-17
and in my hands on 3-10-17.

Eight months plus 19 days, my dealer says three weeks for him to receive the papers after approval.

My bad, my bad.... its 7-11. I snuck this one in just before the end. Brain said July, fingers typed April.

Yeah, it is S/IP. I checked it and yes it took a lot of patience to get it slipped in between it's eventual collapse just prior to the deadline.

It was (another) perfect example of government ineptitude....
