Today I acquired a Ruger Mark 1. It's a "pre-warning" gun as in it doesn't have the warning label on it like guns do now. The blueing on it is near perfect, only very minor scratches that can probably be buffed off. Nothing is chipped off except some paint on the eagle on the grip. It's SUPER CLEAN inside and out. It has a number on it I assume is the serial number. I'm not sure when it was manufactured. Has the original mag which is also in amazing condition. How much is this worth? I've looked on GB to try to compare but the values vary so greatly due to so many factors it's hard to tell and I know nothing about these guns.

    That's a Standard. Pre MK I.

    1953 manufacture.

I settled on Mark II’s being the best of that platform, have acquired many of them, but haven’t watched the prices on others. When I was watching it never seemed to me that there was a price premium for a standard, at least not in the pawn shops.

On GB there's MK 1's in comparable condition going between 400-500

Good! I seem to see MKII’s between $299 and $350 locally, don’t pay much attention to online since the asking prices aren’t very indicative of selling prices. Can you see sold prices?

If it were me I'd start at 350 to 375 and be willing to negotiate a bit.

    Sold new for $37.50.

I did have a book that had a value in it and a good bit of the history of it but I can't put my hands on it right now.
